I think Beasley would be fine for the vet minimum. He has scoring talent that this team desperately needs. But anymore and it's not worth signing a dope like him.

Because our local sports media sucks. They don’t know anything and national people know more about the team than them. It’s quite sad really

Yeah that move wouldn’t make any sense.

    Buttttttt

What’s the risk factor in signing a one year deal and hitting the market next summer? Feel like a big offer would still be there, even if he got hurt. Playing for the Warriors will just up his stock.

But the more realistic guy for this would be Cousins. He may not get the offers he expects. Then what? Cousins is pretty much the only available big I’d dump Nurk for.

Idk, who was the last big man in his prime to rupture his Achilles?

You basically give up on $19M to play with Warriors. It makes sense to decline final year at Clippers to seek out a longer deal (like $70M for 4 years). It makes zero sense, especially when you are a 30-year old big man and the market might not even be there for you next year.

None of those 3 players is worth paying 3x their salary in luxury tax... Blazers do not win a playoff series keeping same roster + one of those 3 guys... also, Courtney Lee will be 33 next season, so his game will start to decline... and Chandler will be 32

I think another consideration for letting Pat and Napier go is that those two combined would’ve made about the same as the tax MLE. I’d much rather pay a Beasley than Pat and Bazz. If we’re going to be in the tax it makes much more sense to fill out the back of the roster with rookie scale guys like Simons and Trent Jr.

Finally found a rumor I believe.

Due to the shortage of teams with cap space for so many free agents available.

Many agents will be fired this summer.

If Nurk signs QO, and we let Ed Davis walk, does that open up the bigger MLE for Blazers? If so that would gives us the chance to sign a wing we desperately need such as Hezonja...

    Who replaces Davis?

Can’t see Hezonja getting more than tax MLE.

Not saying to do this, but we would still have Georgios Papagiannis.
