Poor drafts/no picks are a big reason for the Heats drop.

2003 - Dwyane Wade, Jerome Beasley2004 - Dorell Wright, Pape Sow, Matt Freije2005 - Wayne Simien2006 - No picks ---------------------------------- This is why you guys are struggling right now with a rotation, this is why your rotation is old. You've only had 1 impact player drafted in the last 4 years. And now your feeling it in the playoffs.

well the reason they didn't have any picks was so they could get Shaq...they completed the goal of winning a title..I don't see the problemthe future does look bleak for this team though

You know I think Wayne Simien is better than that. I think he needs a new surrounding and a place where he can get time. It's too bloated on the Heat with Zo, Haslem, Walker, and Shaq. Also, didn't they draft Earl Barron?

I think Simien and Wright can both positively contribute, but they just need some time.

Dorell Wright seems like a solid player to me. Given some time he should be able to play better. Shaq and Zo will also be retiring soon which will help them possibly get a lottery pick. Since as we saw this year Wade cant win games without Shaq.

I agree that we need some youth, but giving up some draft picks for the guys that won us the championship last year was definitely worth it. We will have a decent pick this year, so hopefully we'll get a good player out of the draft. Out of the guys you listed, Wade has obviously already shown what he can do. Wright still needs some time, he was chosen as a project out of high school but after this off-season I think he'll be ready to make a big impact for the Heat either starting or off the bench, I believe he can be a really good player. Simien has just gotten unlucky, he is stuck behind a great frontcourt of Shaq, Haslem, 'Toine, and Zo. He also got sick with something and was sick for a long time. He lost like 20 lbs due to his sickness. I also think Simien can be a good player, not a starter but a good guy off the bench.
