Nik will make 1.6m. For only 2.8m more we could have brought back Ed. This is no sitting well with me.

Being a Blazers fan around the trade deadline or start of free agency is like being a kid all hyped up for Christmas. You stay up all night wondering what your parents got you! But in the morning when you run out excitedly, you find that your parents abandoned you and left for another city in another state. Under the Christmas tree is one letter. When you open it up it only has two symbols written on it:

being a blazer fan is like being the child of an addict. You convince yourself they'll get better, and this time they'll be at your birthday and you'll get that awesome Schwinn you've always wanted. They promised!

But instead you wake up to find out they stole your birthday gifts, took them to a pawn shop and use the money for some beer and cigs. And all you get used socks and a gift card for dollar tree.

Surprised about George extending. He didn’t even take a 5-year deal so in terms of money there was hardly a difference between moving to Lakers and staying in OKC.

Ariza’s $15million deal also a surprise for me. I was expecting him to get more money than he normally would but $15million is so over the top.

He moves WELL without the ball and he smashes out on centers. Nice.

Lakers have to get Kawhi now after striking out on George. I doubt LeBron would want to go there and play just with Ball, Kuzma, Hart, Ingram and Randle.

Spurs can get a massive deal out of it. I think Lakers could end up offering Ingram, Kuzma and Hart, maybe even offer Ball to a third team to obtain another asset to give Spurs. Then LeBron would cherry pick his colleagues out of free agency to go with him and Kawhi.

I love how A: it's a picture of a Volvo wagon, which I really doubt LeBron could fit into or own and B: her previous tweet was about starting an NBA rumor

Hasn't Parker just looked like Michael Beasley-Lite in the NBA?

I honestly think Pop & co. would let Kawhi walk as FA next year before they trade him to the Lakers.

STOTTS manages, in spite of Olshey's best efforts.

He hasn't once shot 40% from the field in 4 seasons. Not so nice

I keep wondering if I should have seen this coming, and I probably should have. Last
season Neil said (or was it Collins that announced this?) that Collins would play inside more.
Apparently, this meant that Davis is gone.

I don't really mind this in a vacuum, but I really would have liked for him to "Show Me the FA Signing" first.

It almost seems like his entire reputation rests on his next signing, and he does not have a good history with signings.

We're also overloading on guards (who can shoot), so it almost makes we feel like we're trading CJ for an SF.

edit: We also seem to be getting rid of those who can't shoot, does that mean ET is being traded?

That’s why it took years for Stotts to even consider adjusting his scheme on D, eh? Stotts is a mediocre coach, at best.

I agree that Olshey has stuck his neck out by letting Ed walk. The fact that it happened so quickly and for such a cheap deal tells me that it had been decided for awhile and that the Blazers let Ed know he wouldn’t be back. I also agree that it says that Collins is moving to more minutes at center. For this all to work, the Blazers need upgrades at PF and SF. NO only has the TPEs, trades and the taxpayer MLE to use to make those moves. I’d say he’s in a make or break situation. Hope he makes it happen.
