I would root for the Celtics if Carlisle ended up there :happy0144: Think about it, with guys like Rondo, Jefferson, Gomes and Pierce there, he could develop that lineup into one of the elites!

Yeah, Tayshaun was a 2nd year player but they didn't utilize him in the first year because of Carlisle until the playoffs. Tayshaun was ready to play when he was draft, but we played Michael Curry instead..who did us no good.I really think that team would have made the finals without Sheed that year, we may not have won it though..I have no idea. They were expected to do the same the previous year..that is part of the reason he was canned besides the personal disagreements with management. As PFF said, Carlisle in a sense plays favorites. He plays who he likes to play instead of who gives the team the best shot to win. He rarely changes his ways. People claim he's a great X's and O's guy because he grabs and draws them more then anybody else during timeouts...in which he calls way to many of. We used to call him Timeout Carlisle. He's has little emotion. That Indiana team walked all over him because he let them. They played with so little inspiration my guess is, because a team reflects the attitude of the coach a lot of times. I dunno why he gets such a great rep for. I definitely wouldn't say he's among the top 10 coaches in the league like was said. I'd say he's in the early 20's. And I'd only hire him if he fit my team mold, and definitely not with him in mind for longterm.A team like Orlando would be an OK fit. Group of nice guys on an up and coming team. But again, if you hire him..you better have somebody in place to develop the youngins as well because he can't do that.

Hill develops young talent as well as anyone else in the league does in my opinion, and is a good coach to lead us into the future in my opinion. I would rather us keep him, than get Carlisle, even though I am a Carlisle fan.

Im not very surprised...When a team isnt winning, the blame goes on the coach. This team has been very unfortunate over the last few years with injuries, suspensions, bad deals, and what not....Carlisle will definitely get picked up by another team....He is a good coach. He just needs the right team...

Indiana was just a mess this year. They were a couple games over .500 early in the year (I think 7), but that mid-season trade with GS ruined their team chemistry, in my opinion. Injuries to Jermaine O'Neal, Jamal Tinsley, and other crucial guys also killed them.Oh, and the strip club shootings. [IMG]I hope Carlisle finds a team soon, this guy a good coach. Maybe he goes to Milwaukee? Or Memphis?

I don't know if Carlilse will take the front office job. His wife is a very active employee of Riley Hospital so he has family to consider. I could see him taking a new job next season though.Candidates for Pacer's head coach posistion:Mark Jackson Mark IavoroniHerb WilliamsReggie Miller :-)-O)Sam Mitchell :-)-O)Any of those coaches I would be fine with but I'd prefer one of the first two

It was pretty much a lose-lose situation there. That being said, if he can coach a decent team, he'll be in good shape.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (valo35 @ Apr 25 2007, 09:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>The Pistons got to the Eastern conference finals the year before under Carlisle, and the next year was wa little different of a team. Prince was a second year player by that time, and they got Rasheed Wallace towards the trade deadline the year Carlisle left. I think Carlisle did a good job in Detroit.Considering all of the injuries, and everything else that kept happening it was understandable that this team was a hard one to coach. I think Carlisle did the best job with what he had here. Like people said, there was the Palace brawl, Jermaine O'neal gets hurt every year, Tinsley gets hurt every year, Artest was problems on that team from day one, Stephen Jackson was a headache. This team was full of drama and problems from day one.I believe a prime spot for Carlisle to look into, would be the Charlotte Bobcats. He could do wonders for that team defense, and would not have even half of the problems that the Pacers have had.</div>Carlisle did indeed do a very good job in Detroit. He was doing so good, that when he got fired, I was absolutely shocked. It was so random and out of the blue, because no one at that time knew that we were going to talk to Larry Brown. We got Brown, and the rest is history :dribble:
