The Nuggets just blew a wad on Will the Thrill and Jokic, so will need to shed serious salary to avoid a RIDICULOUS tax bill. Wilson Chandler would fit nicely into our largest TPE...

Of course, it could also be Darrell Arthur (fine, I guess) or Kenneth Faried (NO THANKS)

Could be any of the three for all I care, just as long as it comes with a first.

Since it's the 1st of july, Faried is now too expensive for our TPE.

We won’t use the TPE. We just let Ed Davis go over $4.4million and preferred to hand over a $1.6million deal to Nik Stauskas because it’s cheaper. Why all of a sudden we would give someone $10million+ for a year?

Those cost cutting moves were probably done so that the TPE could be used without going too far into luxury tax territory.

totally agree, take on Chandler for what 12 mil and NOT sign Davis for 4-5 mil? That IMO would make no sense, but then again when I consider our asinine GM it could easily happen

Faried is not a bad player, and he's a good dude. He's had basically what amounts to, ZERO, wear and tear these last 2 years. He's an expiring contract, which helps for next year, in a year where the experts say it is going to be a huge FA year. Faried is an outstanding rebounder, and scores in and around the hoop. He would be a good addition with the energy he could bring.

Why would you not resign Davis for $4.4m but spend $11m or whatever he makes on Chandler? It’s ridiculous.

They don't play the same position and are nothing alike.

Of course they aren’t but we needed someone like Davis anyway and will likely have to sign a replacement via free agency anyway.

You would think if it were Chandler, it would have happened already, unless Neil is holding
    out for a 1st rounder....

Chandler and a first rounder would actually be decent. It would have to be lottery protected though, I imagine. I doubt Denver are going to be a lottery team next season though, it must finally click for them, they have been so close for the last two years.

Always preferred him at 4. If we are going to use him as a center long term then we need a power forward immediately, Aminu is the only one on our roster and he’s not even a true power forward. Swanigan won’t get heavy minutes, in fact I will be surprised if he contributes at all.

Now I am leaning towards agreeing with you. It's not just the luxury tax we'd have to pay; its all the revenue from the other tax teams we'd lose. All that in total could be a huge amount such as $50 million? I don't think there is any chance we value one year of Wilson Chandler enough to pay that much.

I'm starting to accept what we have now will be the opening day roster. Not the offseason I was hoping for.

This is the long term result of the 2016 Meyers and Turner signing.... back when they happened idiots were talking about how it was our only chance of cap room and we had to blow it yada yada... Now we are stuck with what we have for this coming season, and can repeat next year as well.

I tend to agree as well but if we could just get Meyers to play inside then Collins and Meyers might be decent as the backup 4/5 for next year.
