According to this, this is not correct. "According to Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders, Layman’s contract for the upcoming season would automatically convert from non-guaranteed to guaranteed on June 30." I'm not sure what is true? https://www.blazersedge.com/2018/7/...lazers-jake-layman-guaranteed-contract-option
Once you master the "auskas"...adding the "st" is pretty easy....think of a short way of saying Australian Cousin....auskas
It's easier to say Steak House than Steak Sauce. This will be useful wisdom if he lasts beyond preseason. If you like him, nickname him A-1. If not, call him Worcestershire.
There's a new cuss word in Portland: Stauskas, that hurts! Oh Stauskas, I forgot to pay the rent. Listen you little Stauskas, I am gonna kick your ass. You are BANNED. I TOLD you not to type the S-word on this forum.
Ok I don’t know who’s going to want to hear this, but I’m...down for Stauskas? It didn’t take much to sell me once I did some diving. 1. He’s played for the Kings, the 76ers, and was a throw in for Brooklyn. He’s never really been in an ideal situation. He spent one season in Sacramento without a defined role. In philly his playing time was up and down. Then he was a throw in in the Okafor trade and was buried on the depth chart because Brooklyn already had guys like Harris, Crabbe, and Lavert ahead of him. 2. His numbers are actually encouraging. The more he plays the better he shoots. Last year when he got 20+ minutes he shot over 45% from outside. The year before 38%. Now he’ll most likely not see 20+m in Portland but I think it’s more about confidence than anything. 3. He’s actually bigger than I thought. 6’6 1/2 in shoes. 4. He might be more than just a shooter. Better athlete than I thought. Terry will give him the freedom to find out. Looking at his college tape, he can handle the ball a bit, and showed some potential in pick and roll situations, which could be why Portland preferred him over Pat. This was a move worth making, especially for the minimum. I think he’s going to surprise.
He's so bad defensively nothing else makes up for it. -4.0 BPM last year... Quit putting lipstick on a pig, he's not a good player.
Just some advice: I fact check everything you say, so if you’re going to throw stats at me, make sure they’re correct.
People are only crying because it happened the same day ed left. I don’t see any downside to this move. We needed shooting. And not just set shooting. Someone who can also move without the ball and shoot off curls, etc. We don’t have anyone (proven) like that on our roster outside of C.J.
Trent a better player with more upside. Stauskas is awful. Just because he can shoot doesn't make this a good move.
Which blazers team did you watch last year? Trent is 19 years old. If he proves better, great. But to count on that from day one is foolish. Not even sure Stauskas is that guy either. We’ll see what other moves they make.
A team that was a Top 10 defense because they didn't have guys like Nik Stauskas playing. He makes Dame and CJ look like good defenders.
No they had Pat Connaughton playing who was generally a negative defensively. But unlike Pat, Stauskas can do more than occasionally hit a set shot.
