If Frazier was bitching about playing time he'd really go off if Ellsbury came back and was inserted into the lineup. In addition the additional player becched or sent down to accommodate that spoiled guppy would be unhappy as well. We all know Ellsbury should get no playing time. With me Ellsbury ranks right up there with Pavano and behind A-hole as classic examples of Franchise Filth. Do Cashman and Boone have the stones to say "sit". I guess we'll find out.

Even if the Yanx cut Ellsbury, they're still on the hook for his remaining salary as were as being charged that same amount towards the luxury tax threshold. So Cashman has to package a sweet deal for another team by including prospects and a portion of Ellsbury's contract in order for someone to be willing to take Ellsbury off our hands.
...it can be done...we know this from the Red Sox pulling off a similar deal with the Dodgers a few years ago.

...Cashman, get your ass on the phone and make this happen.

Ellsbury is the original eye-sore, deadwood on the Yankee roster. Right up there with A-hole.
He is an example of a player who is not capable of energizing the team. This guy needs to disappear.

Cashman’s pride stands in the way of making him go away. Pathetic.

Ellsbury turns 35 this year, recent events in the free agency market have shown that age in the thirties is not good. If the Yankees had a package to trade and help with his salary I can't think of a team that would want him. When the Red Sox unloaded their trash on the Dodgers they had a GM. The Yankees have Cashman, not the most "action packed" mover of men in the market. If the Yankees can't find a taker, stall him till seasons end then pay his contract.

^^^^ aaah, the 1/4 Billion $$$ salary dump, infamous trade if there ever was one.
Crawford, Beckett, Gonzo and Punto, for a hill of bean nobodies.

Classic in how that trade benefited both Teams. The Bums needed Gonzo more than t/other 3, and basically bought a +5-6 game improvement WAR, enough to make PS. With Bosox winning the WS 2 years later.

The Bosox reprieve of 1/4 billion $$$, and obtaining beans enabled them to DFA t/beans less Loney while saving shitloads of $$$, which would enable them to hang onto their prospects. While freeing up Epstein to purchase, Peavey, made a number of modest acquisitions — Shane Victorino, Mike Napoli, Jonny Gomes, Koji Uehara, Ryan Dempster.

Ntm- money saved in the bank allowed Bosox to sign Moncada, eventually obtaining Sale.

Imo, there is NO reason Trashman can't put together a thoughtful deal like Epstein has over and over ...

Some GMs Excel at buying, others at selling. Personally I think Cashman needs a selling g specialist on his team. It's always been his weak suite.

I'd pay him to sit at home, cuz he's bad karma on the bench, in the clubhouse. He showed up in TB in t/Yanx clubhouse and we know what followed. A bad luck charm he is; tho' I believe somehow he can be traded while t/Yanx eat most of his salary. Whatever they can save is money gained.
