    Because if you believe in your culture and what youve built, you trust in your ability to sell him on Portland. It’s a risk, but it’s worth it. Worst case scenario it opens up room to make a run at Cousins. We have to take a risk otherwise we’ll continue to just float around. We’re talking about arguably the second best all around player in the league here.

    Up front, my opinion may be debatable.

    I do not give Neil credit for drafting Dame.

    Yes he was GM on draft night. But...
    He had only been the GM for 24 days, hardly time to organize his office.

    The Blazers were already sold on Dame before NO became the GM.

    I'm talking about Kawhi. I get taking risks. But, the guy is going to end up in LA. We all know it. If it was LA of last year, I think Portland would have a chance of convincing him to stay. But, now that it's Lebron's Lakers? Not going to happen. Dude will find his way there no matter what.

    George was widely assumed as a lock to go to LA, and that was before they even locked up Lebron. And he still passed. You just never know.

    At what point do we ask whether guys even want to play with Lebron that bad? Kyrie ditched him. George passed. I can understand it too. When Lebrons team wins he gets all the credit. When they lose, everyone else gets blamed. It’s not for everyone.

    I'm ready to take a flyer on Kawhi just because. Seeing that we got cock blocked from getting Cousins cuz of the same agent garbage makes me want to see the Blazers get another legit star. Typically, I don't like to see us trade for most likely 1 year rentals, but fuck it, I want to see us gather more talent and heck maybe we can even convince him to stay if we have a good season and potential playoff run.
