I think it is true based off Nurks response and if it did happen and get back to Nurk things could interesting. Neil hasn’t done a great job in regards to player relation these past couple days, but that could change with one swing of the bat.

I agree. That would be flatout stupid. I like Love as a PF next to Nurk, but to give up on a developing young center is asinine.
From what I recall, outstanding player relations was part of the resume Olshey came with. All these examples of personal relationships with players throughout the league, part of the package he sold was his presence would make Portland an attractive place to come and play. If he didn't directly say that, he didn't hush a lot of people who presumed it when analyzing his hiring. That really hasn't played out, other than Aminu. I don't recall any player interviews noting their relationship with Olshey. If anything, the nearest mention he gets is being clumped with the front office. In regards to Cousins, it would seem a golden opportunity for him to team up with CJ/Lillard and close on Cousins. CJ/Lillard sell Cousins based on their friendship and Olshey sells him on the league wide reputation that he's a helluva guy. Seems something Quick and friends would have snuffed out if Olshey made that effort with his two stars (who he should have a very, very close relationship with based on the perception of him from 6 years ago). Probably didn't happen. The further from his hiring we get, the less I remember about what was supposed to be good about him.
