Al Jefferson got no league wide publicity as he stepped up his game. His points doubled this season and he rebounds went up from 6 to 11...those are big jumps. I guess the guards get more attention.

Martin should have got it I guess. But a 3 point difference, I guess Ellis deserves it

I guess this award isn't anything to get pissed about, nobody even remembers who got it 3 years ago, the only awards that mean anything are MVP/DPY/ROY to me. But I do like to see the deserving guy get it no matter what the award.

Must have been the Russians doing the voting :thumbdn1: Only reason I see Ellis getting it over Martin is because the Warriors made the playoffs.

I like Monta and he did have an excellent season, but Kevin Martin should have gotten this award, and once again Al Jefferson gets f*cking nothing. That's so ridiculous. I'm with BCB, another award gone to the wrong person.

I don't have a problem with Eliis getting it over Martin. He improved as the season went on, and he was a big reason in team making the playoffs. Martin fizzled out towards the end of the season and that was part of the reaosn the Kings stumbled to the finish line. But Ellis, Martin, Jefferson and Williams all were very worthy candidates IMO. As BCB said, it isn't one of the premier awards and while it is a nice little achievement, it isn't anything to make a big fuss over.

I also rooted for Monta. Or Monte for that matter, I think he is a great player and should be involved in the warrior front office more than often. He deserves it though, I think Kevin Martin started the season strong but fell in halfway and stayed there. Monta as far as I know, has been consistent throughout.

Seems that the awards go to winning teams.

Kevin Martin is the real winner, and sometimes sports writers need to keep their "expert opinions" to themselves.

His FG % dropped from being in the upper 40's-low 50's, to very low 40's.

Look at Monta's it doesn't fluctuate as much as Martin's IMO. He also had only 10 games with ten points or less. [IMG][IMG]I made a quick graph here...uhh it seems to me Kevin martins fluctuates a bit more. It was close, but I think Monta was a bit more consistent. The Warriors just didnt get much attention.

Good. I'm 2/3 in award predictions now. Camby for DPOY is my next prediction.

I think the reason that Ellis won is that he learned a completely new position this year, he improved more as the season went on in his passing, turnovers, his driving, and was key to our playoff run. Martin got recognition last year in the playoffs and fizzled out and that is probably the reason that he did not win this year. Congrats to Monta, I wish Biedrins had won though.

They both made huge jumps, but I rooted for Monta just because I love his game. These awards are nothing to fuss about, however.

I don't get why people would get so pissed over a guy getting the MIP who improved about 95% of what the deserving guy did.
