So. Basically the same as every other game thread I’ve tried to skim through. Gotta love the consistency! ;)

Sometimes you gotta agree to disagree.

As long as everyone understands that I was the true star of the original and this is just a reboot of an old school classic!

Nurk's dad would have to crank it up to level 4 to put me down if he talked about my lack of a father...just saying. Nurk's dad level 4 of 10 is like an 8.0 earthquake by the way

Caleb gives is inside scoring? Since when? We hope that's a skill he develops.

Maybe he means through offensive rebounds, which I could see for points, but wouldn’t consider that an inside offensive game. They would be quick put backs. He is not a “back your defender down” offensive player.
    Yet.

Love Swani's hustle and heart.....but he has so little explosiveness near the hoop and hasn't learned to clear enough space yet or quick-shoot like ZBo. Hopefully that will come but I see him barely getting his shot off on guys in SL. Those shots have little chance against regular rotation players. And while cleaning the glass like Ed, he doesn't play near the interior D that Davis did.

Not sure he can 'learn' explosiveness and defensive ability that easily.

Baldwin might be odd man out with 6 players can play either the 1 or the 2. I know Trent will play either the 2 or 3. I just cant see them carry 7 guards on the roster. I see them going with 14 players at the start of the season and 2 two way players. I see Baldwin and PapaG to get waive after the summer league.

This is why i didnt like the pick. He'd be great if he was a 7 footer, but he's not. Even Z-Bo, with all his craftiness, was never an efficient scorer or good defender. Hes gonna have to be able to hit 3s to be effective enough to have a positive impact, but i definitely question his shooting. He had a wide open 3 today and missed so bad that he banked it in.

I think salesman is a great trait in a GM. Sorry he doesn't coddle your fandom. Lil millennial Snowflake sounding ;) @Natebishop3.

Here's the thing about trades. If you only hit two or three out the park you can still be a great GM. It's all about the ability to put a deal together and connect with the bat. Sometimes where the ball lands is out of your control (ie Afflalo then Wes going down). Olshey has proven his ability to get trades done and the best batters know when not to swing.

Plumlee for Nurk (and a pick) was a home run. Completely changed the makeup of this team, how we play and more importantly how we defend. All it takes is another one or two like that over the next couple years and we could be in business just in time for a new Dame supermax.

There's no way Baldwin is on his way out. Hes too good. That position isnt that stacked. 6 guards isn't bad at all, it should actually be average (on a 15 man roster a balanced team would have 3 players at every position).

This is virtually an oxymoron...Tim Duncan missed a lot and banked them in eh? How do you do that exactly? I saw him make the shot...he banked in from the sweet spot on the backboard..

You literally didn’t address at all the 2016 debacle he gave guys not just too much money per year but long contracts too.
I’m technically a millennial I guess, but talking down to your fans is not a good thing. I see him more as a used car salesman then someone selling me a good product most of the time, but to each there own.
He hardly ever really makes trades so the notion he’s really good at it kind of laughable. His last two trades were salary cap dumps to take care of stupid contracts he signed.
Now I am trying to be fair about it, I realize he has done some good things as the GM, but you seem to be slanted the arguement without really recognizing much of the bad stuff, you mentioned Afflalo but brushed it off pretty quick.

The money was bad enough.....the length of the contracts made them even worse. Totally agree @TorturedBlazerFan

Naw, Baldwin will make it. Papa G might even get his guarantee date pushed back.

We may have a lot of guards but I only see two small forwards on the roster, and only one real point guard. I see Curry as CJs direct backup. Trent will play more SF according to Olshey and Stauskas is probably a hybrid as well.

We will see with the final roster we will wait by July 19 when olshey either keep him or cut him. I didn't say he isn't good but he will be the 7th players that can play the guard position.

That if they carried 15 players and due to being over the salary limit they might start out with 14. I am not saying your wrong and he does play good enough to be on the roster.
