Maybe I'm in the minority. I just don't see it in Collins

Me neither. I can see him being a nice player someday but never the kind of player you would be sorry you gave up for Kevin Love.

If Kevin Love were 27-28, maybe I’d consider dealing Collins for Love. But he’ll be 30 when the season begins. He’s not the healthiest. I’ve never been a huge Love fan, to be fair. He’s always put up good numbers, but so did Abdur-Rahim.

Collins is already a better defender than Love is. But I would not mind having both while Collins develops.

I think Collins could be a Marcus Camby type. Not really a great offensive player, but a really good defender. I don't think he's going to be a perennial All-Star unless something drastic changes though.

You do realize that when Collins is entering his prime that Dame and CJ will be at the trail end of there's. Same with Nurk though. At some point we're going to have to make some tough choices. Just saying.

Why? That sounds ideal to me.

Didn't you read the thread? It is for KL. Kevin Love to be exact

I'd be open to trading Zach but I'm not a big fan of K. Love. I'd rather trade Zach for Jimmy Butler or K. Leonard. I'd take the risk for one season and see if we can spend the next year pitching him on the culture and franchise.

Guessing he meant Kawhi Leonard, just an unfortunate initials coincidence.

I'm fine with building for the future as well as right now.

We don't need to make those choices unless somebody really special comes along. Love is too injury prone and disinterested in defense to be that special, unfortunately.

I know.... Just trying to give him a hard time. I found it a tad ironic.

I actually completely agree with his take too. I wouldn't include Collins in a Love trade.

What is the "it"? Because there are plenty of "its" I don't see in Kevin Love.

I'm projecting Collins as a below average starter. Maybe he bursts out of that to become a solid starter in his prime, but his ceiling is nowhere near where Kevin Love is now (or in the near future).

Love is just a flat out better player, and I expect this hierarchy to remain over the next 4-5 years.

I wouldn't hesitate in moving Collins and maximizing his value before the rest of the league figures out he's not a star.

Zach Collins is going to be a much better defensive player that Kevin Love will ever be.

Offense he will be an average+ player at least, I suspect, but he has the tools to be more

Agreed. At worst, Collins will be a good defender who can hit the three, as he already has shown. He seems motivated to work on his post game and his driving abilities. Only time will tell if those can develop as well.

I would love Jimmy Butler. That would be worth risk for sure.
