Swanigan doesn't fit the "Ed Davis replacement" bill, but Harrell absolutely could and would. However, I'd be shocked if he signed for anything close to the little we have available.

EDIT: actually, I'm surprised to learn he's not as good a rebounder as I thought. Still, I'd love him as a backup big.

    Isaiah Thomas is still unsigned.

He was 5th in MVP voting just a year ago while putting up nearly 30 a game on elite efficiency.

Because we need more short guards who can't defend?

Ok, seriously, if we hadn't just signed Curry and Stauskas, and drafted Trent and Simons, and seen Baldwin play so well, I might be down for this. But, given the number of guards we cannot move at this time, I don't see how this could work. Before Curry and Stauskas, I would have been down for it.

I don't want him in POR. Just surprising that no one is going after him.

Seems like teams are weary of him given his post-Boston performance. I do agree that he could be a heck of a guy to bring off the bench if you had a good defense to go with him.

I bet he'd be delighted with a bench role and not cause any drama at all

...that would be hilarious if they shipped him out of the country! Would instantly become one of my all-time favorite NBA trades :biglaugh:

I think San Antonio or Houston would be good spots for him.

After how bad he was early in his career, and not watching much of him since, I can't wrap my head around ah-Capela being worth anything more than a minimum contract.

I'm not sure what the Hawks wanted back from the Cavs but apparently they offered them the #3 pick if they took Bazemore off their hands. My guess is it would have been for the #8 pick and to make the top-10 protected the Cavs owe the Hawks unprotected next year. I'm surprised they didn't make the Mavs take some salary back too in the Doncic trade.

If they are looking to dump salary, they have a bunch of picks to attach.

It's not about worth, it's about leverage.

I know Capela's been crazy effective in D'Antoni's system, I just can't come to grips with him being as good as the stats indicate. D'Antoni is a "system" guru, and I can't help but feel that any number of players would look just as good in the role.

Let's go get David Nwaba ppl! He's a SG & SF; he's 6'4" (wish he was a lil' taller BUT he's good AND cheap!). He's 25 years old & made $1,744,951 his last contract. Neil... GO GET HIM!:smiley-yippee: IF we got him, we'd improve our guard defense tremendously (him + Baldwin!:smiley-yay:) & then trade CJ for a really good SF & a good enough PF (just a really good SF outta the CJ deal would make me happy enough:wink:)! IF we got a good SF... Nwaba could split time there & @ SG & we'd strengthen 2 areas of extreme weakness!:blazerwookie::blazerwookie:
