Guccifer was a Russian agent. Trump's friend Roger Stone has admitted to talking with Guccifer.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller indicted 12 Russian intelligence officers for hacking offenses related to the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign.

    [Read the indictment here]

The 12, who are members of the GRU, a Russian intelligence agency, are accused of stealing usernames and passwords of volunteers in Democrat Hillary Clinton’s campaign, including its chairman John Podesta. They also hacked into the computer network of the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic National Committee, in an operation starting around March 2016.

The charges include conspiracy to commit an offense against the U.S., aggravated identity theft and conspiracy to launder money. They are accused of releasing the stolen emails on the web.

The announcement came only three days before President Donald Trump is to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein told reporters Friday that “I briefed President Trump about these allegations earlier this week. The president is fully aware of the department’s actions.”

Rosenstein said two separate Russian units of the GRU intelligence agency stole emails and information from Democrats and then disseminated it via online personas, DCLeaks and Guccifer 2.0. He also said there’s no allegation in the indictment that any American was involved in the operation.

“The object of the conspiracy was to hack into the computers of U.S. persons and entities involved in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, steal documents from those computers, and stage releases of the stolen documents to interfere with the 2016 U.S. presidential election," the indictment said.

With the charges, Mueller’s prosecutors have marked out another Internet pathway they say Russia used to influence the U.S. election. On Feb. 16, his prosecutors charged 13 Russians and three Russian entities they said were part of a broader effort to sow discord among U.S. voters through social media -- which they used to impersonate Americans, coordinate with unwitting U.S. activists and even plan rallies.

Trump has frequently dismissed the Russia probe as a “witch hunt” and expressed his anger that Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from overseeing the investigation. That put Rosenstein in charge, and he promptly appointed former FBI Director Mueller as special counsel.

U.S. intelligence agencies have concluded that Putin personally ordered a campaign to undermine “public faith in the U.S. democratic process” with the goal of hurting Clinton’s candidacy and ultimately helping to elect Trump.

Because Mueller has maintained public silence on his investigation, Rosenstein has made the few public pronouncements on the probe outside of legal documents and courtroom proceedings.

I'm so confused right now because Trump says he asked Putin if Russia meddled in our elections and Putin said they didn't. Clearly Rosenstein and Mueller are lying to protect Hillary.

12 is one less than 13, so clearly MS 13 and Mexico was behind this.

And 13 is a bakers dozen, and one of Comey's top people at the FBI was James Baker. It all fits.

Someone in Trump's inner circle had contacts with Russian intelligence and (p.16) and a GOP candidate personally solicited stolen documents from Russian intelligence.

Page 15-16 is very interesting. So a candidate for Congress asked Russia for help.

On or about august 15, 2016, the conspirators, posing as Guccifer 2.0, received a request for stolen documents from a candidate for the US Congress. The Conspirators responded using the Guccifer 2.0 persona and sent the candidate stolen documents related to the candidates opponent.

On July 27, 2016, Trump gave a press conference in Florida during which he again expressed doubt that Russia had been behind the DNC hack. He then urged Russia to hack into Hillary Clinton’s private email server, saying, “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing.” The administration has since characterized the comment as a joke.

    From the indictment...

On or about July 27, 2016, the Conspirators attempted after hours to spearphish for the first time email accounts at a domain hosted by a third-party provider and used by Clinton?s personal office. At or around the same time, they also targeted seventy-six email addresses at the domain for the Clinton Campaign.

I'd be absolutely shocked if this did anything to Trump, or any president. Other countries meddling in this type of stuff happens in basically every election everywhere. I'm sure Cliton had help, Trump had help, Obama, Bush, the other Cliton. I'm not defending trump, I'm just saying this stuff goes on and will go on for basically forever. In fact I can almost guarantee you that America has meddled in other countries elections too.

Sure except now we're seeing evidence that Americans directly asked for help from the Russians. Even if they didn't know they were Russians they still asked for illegal help from foreign entities. That is a very very serious crime. That is something that all Americans should agree that we will never stand for.

And yes, if Hillary has done this, if Obama has done this, if anyone has done this they need to be prosecuted.

Well sure most politicians aren't so dumb they post it on twitter, or go joke about it in public. Let's not pretend it doesn't go on behind closed doors though. Again not defending trump's stupidity at all, just saying this doesn't phase me in the slightest and yes it's a serious crime and it's bad, but I don't doubt for a minute how corrupt they all are.

I'm fine if this leads to mass arrests of people in both parties. Bring it on, if you're colluding with foreign actors and governments your ass belongs in prison.
