    Between LMA and DeRozan, the Spurs have cornered the market on players shooting >8 jumpers per game from 10-23' at a 41.5% clip.

    So RC Buford and Pop turned down better offers you think? I am not saying they didn't (although I highly doubt it). They just wanted to F Kawhi by sending him to Toronto, and to spite him, they decided to take players they didn't really want and hurt the franchise they have been working for, for a combined 40+ years?

    I'd love to know the backstory behind his re-signing there. He'd made no bones about wanting to go to LA, so what happened? A sudden love of playing Robin to Westbrook's Ballhog Man? More likely, it seems to me, is that the Lakers weren't as enamored of PG as they were with the idea of ultimately getting Kawhi and passed that info on to PG's agent.

    DeRozan == 4 time all star 2-time all NBA
    C.J. == zero time all star, zero time all NBA

    TOR == Eastern Conference
    POR == Western Conference

    Just sayin'

    I think Kawhi had a lot to do with that. Plus, the implication is that under utilized players thrive under Pop.

    Interesting requirement. So if someone offered a young upcoming superstar who did not yet average 20 ppg because he was on deep team, SA would not want him? Seems a bit narrow minded.

    Would you trade CJ and first round protected pick for one year rental Kwahi and Danny Green?

    At first I was thinking you might be right. But now I wonder if this just might give LA more of an incentive to wait. Toronto is not for everyone.

    But it it does bring up the point that Toronto might turn around and trade him to the west.

    They got a youngish all star on a long term contract and a 1st. What could/would Philly have matched that with?

    But if you don't wanna calmly talk about what I suggested, that's cool

    A *possible one year rental. There's no guarantee it would only be for a year.

    I would personally make the trade. You only get so many chances at a top 5 talent.

    I think LA should trade for him, it would maintain their ability to bring in another star next summer too.

    I wouldn't, but just because of the injury and the fact nobody has seen him play recently. There is a chance this trade doesn't go through unless Toronto waived the physical.

    Yes - but are you hypothetically saying for sure a rental - or what we think will be a rental. If it was set in stone, no. I would take my chances that he falls in love with Lillard/team and likes Portland. If he bolts, oh well, we aren't getting anywhere with CJ vs GS and Houston etc

    Heres the thing. Its basketball not life or death. The question isn't "would you maybe put this heart in your body that might fail even though yours is working, this one might be better or you might die". Its, "hey this is a sport and entertainment, wanna take a chance on a top 3 player?"

    Well..... to use your heart analogy.... we're slowly dying of heart failure. We could trade our heart for another heart that might cure us, or it might kill us faster.... would you do it?

    Maybe taxes have a part in the decision. Los Angeles has a much higher tax then OKC. Toronto compared to SA... It's the reverse.
