Prefers means “I’d like to send him east but I’ll do what’s best for the franchise and aquire the best assets”

Nobody is thinking about it because it doesn't make sense. The lakers didn't go all out for him now, why would they spend anything on him at the deadline when they can have him for free in the offseason?

All in? I never said that. I said going into next offseason with 2 of the 10 best players in the league is a better situation to be in, and that I don’t think he will leave 50 mil on the table to go elsewhere.

Kawhi has now lost his super max contract rights so it's really not that much money Toronto (or us if we traded for them) could offer. Sure the team who has him can offer a 5th year but that is super misleading as he could make that money up and more with a new contract after 4 years.

NO... Prefer is a judment/opinion word.

Prefers can go to either extremes. But nice try. :)

Havent you ever heaqrd of it in this context?

Trade Kawhi to the Lakers? Uhhh no. I prefer to trade him to the East.

You are digging into the symantics WAAAYYY too much.

You are delusional if you think a franchise will turn down a better haul for a player just to get him out of conference.

Quick synopsis (maybe a deep dive later tonight):
BNM covered many of my points, but let's recap a couple.
DeRozan's a bigger guy (6'7 vs. 6'3), but as BNM said they're basically a wash on defensive metrics. I think that being bigger helps him with flexibility in a switching defense, but nothing too huge there.
They both shoot a ridiculous number of mid-ranges (both top 5 in the league in attempts), where CJ's at about 45% and DD is 43%.
CJ is by far the better 3pt shooter (at this point in his career, one of the best (20th) in NBA history). DeRozan make Aminu look like Kyle Korver. though last year he literally doubled his previous career-high in attempts.
DeRozan's a better finisher at the rim (66 vs 55%) and in the paint (47 vs 40%), which seems to be more of a "superstar" skill. It also helps him get more than double FT/g than CJ (7.0 vs 3.1)

DeRozan's 2 years older, but has a bit more "history". With similar contracts (both have about 3/80M left, though DeRozan's 2020-21 is a player option) I really believe it becomes a flavor fit. I think personally I'd rather have CJ than DeRozan, but that's not because I think he's the superior player on paper. I could absolutely see how Pop would rather have DeRozan. I just think it's funny that between him and LMA they combined for 1300 mid-range J's last year at 42%. Yeesh.

They got LBJ. I'm pretty sure he was their primary focus and PG became a secondary thought the moment they knew they had a chance at Lebron.

    Keep trying though.

So, that addresses the "leaving" thing, but it doesn't address the "without a quad that works, he's not a Top 5 player" thing. This could totally go the Isaiah Thomas 2017 route.

Really? when GM's will turn down better offers because they dont like the owner?

See Indi/PTL a year ago... we offered a better package but they chose a different route because the GM doesn't like our owner. What makes you think they wouldn't do something similar in order to stifle more competition in their own conference??? Which is a better reason than not liking the owner of a trade partner....

Yeah, im the one that is delusional. LOL Thats a good funny you made there.

You must of missed my post where you are wrong about the money. Kawhi didn't want to stay in SA where he could've signed a SUPER MAX. If it had anything to do with money he would stay. To bring up money (when it isn't even that much of a difference) is completely ignorant and stupid.

So there’s a grudge between San Antonio’s front office and every other front office in the West? We never said anything about franchises with conflicts in the front office, nice leap though:)

Is that what I said? NO. So YOU GTFO. ;)

A few of you around here have issues reading one thing and thinking it says another. Much like NO lieing. He hasn't yet, but its being tossed around he is a liar because people here like to wist shit around to fit their narrative. Those of you that do this are not fooling anyone but yourselves...

    Reading comprehension 101.

Listening comprehension 101. Some of you need it.

When someone says they want to do something or prefer to do something and then end up not doing it. That does not define a lie.....

Why do I feel like i'm teaching a grade school session now?
