I think Stotts will experiment in preseason with with the 2nd unit with Curry Nik/ Trent ET Zach Swanigan/Leonard. I don't Baldwin will get the run as people would like but just my thoughts. Stotts going to see if they rest Dame and CJ more. But it fails he will go back what he did last year.
Yes....but Terry isn't known for favoring defense over offense....or really at all. I know Terry likes to go small but if Curry is playing at the '3', EVERYONE will be posting him up.
It's more about role / skill set. And I think you could get away with some 3 guard looks vs. smaller bench lineups.
On 2K, I would bring Curry in to play the 2 but I would have him guard the smaller of the 2 backcourt counterparts.
the Lillard CJ Bazz 3 guard small ball game was effective....Curry is taller than Bazz...I see them possibly used in the same fashion at times. as to defense....we went from 27th to 8th last years but the offense dropped way off...everybody thought we needed more scoring punch...Mo Chief Nurk and ET are our defensive guys...Curry plays offense at the 3....Chief will handle the defense on his man more than likely....defensive assignments aren't always the same as offensive ones...Dame would often not be defending the opposing pt guard on defense
Last season he did it more but we've buried Dame and CJ on defense many times.....against the Grizz Dame was actually on Gasol a lot...my point is we put our best defenders on scoring pt guards pretty often...we have some guys who can defend this season in the backcourt.
I watched every game and didn't see this. I'm sure it wasn't in the gameplan. That's not hiding Dame and if anyone needs hiding it's CJ.
Cj held his own due to there less screens he had to go over and cj pretty strong with the lower gravity he is pretty hard move.
I think of Curry as a combo guard, much the same as CJ and even Dame to an extent. Baldwin plays offense like a 1 and defense like a traditional 2. In other words, it's pretty easy to see any combination of these guys on the floor together at a given time.
