You have the gall to whip out the grammar/spelling police and call someone out for a typo or spelling own after your spelling faux pas?...spiffy.
It's not your job or his to determine someone else's disability status and needs. If you have that big of a problem with it then a picture and a call to law enforcement will do. Most likely these people were jerks taking advantage of the system but it is possible that they had a valid legal need for this and didn't have the temporary card displayed. Not every disability is obviously, many are invisible to the casual observer.
Saw a woman fly through the parking lot at 30 mph. Pull her huge Suburban in taking up two spots, jump put and RUN into Starbucks. I wished her death. Hope it happened but I would not actually kill her.
That shit really does pisses me off, I also get upset with the overuse of service animals also because it does hurt the people who need it. But utimatly is it really that terrible of a violation? I get more upset at rich people who view fines as a small expense to do whatever they want. People are entitled assholes though and whatever system is in place will eventually be abused but again it's not our place to police this action and I don't really get why people think it is. This is personal for me, I am disabled by legal blindess. What I can see, I can still see well, but I only have about 20 degrees of usable vision. Sometimes I use a cane and sometimes I do not, it really depends on the situation and available light. On more than one occasion I have had to defend myself on the bus to people who think I am faking it because I can surf the web on my phone after sitting down with my cane. I'm always blown away as to what they think I would actually be gaining out of faking, half price bus tickets are about it. But nonetheless they jump my shit over it. I'm lucky that I'm a tall guy in good shape, that alone deters a lot of people, women in the low vision community have it a lot worse in that area. But this situation could literally be me if I got a disabled parking permit and didn't display it, I wouldn't be driving but my wife could be, I could jump out of the car without my cane and get in and out of the store without much issue, but not crossing a busy parking lot would really be useful to me. From your perspective you could easily think I am an entitled assholes who just wants a good parking spot.
Ha! What pisses me off is disabled people having their own line at the DMV. At least the ones in a wheelchair. You get to sit!
Lol, how about fat people who use all the scooters. I do think to myself, do you really need that and maybe if you didn't use it then you wouldn't need it. I recognize that makes me the asshole sometimes, but I will still always give up my preferred seat on the bus for them.
Some of us need it. I can't stand for more than a minute or two. After walking all the way across a parking lot, I'd be too tired to walk any further.
That's what I'm saying. Sitting down to wait isn't hurting you unless you can't walk AND have some sort of butt problem too.
Saw a nearly six feet tall 550 lb woman walking into the world's largest chevron today. She had to be over 50 too. I was AMAZED at how well she was moving.
How do people get that heavy? It has to be primarily due to genetics. I feel terrible about putting on 50 lbs. since I had to give up exercise. I miss everything about exercise which I love and preach. I felt great and looked great. It put me in a positive and good mood. There's NO BETTER feeling than after a good workout after you've achieved a good level of fitness. I urge everyone to try it. Edit: A noted psychologist once told me about a study by a major Ivy League university that concluded that there were four main characteristics of highly successful people - 1. Helping others. I look at this as mentoring. It's important that it not be part of your profession. This means that it has to be strictly voluntary; 2. Spirituality. For me, this means a belief in God but it can be something of the sort of the wonder at the stars or the atom or some such; 3. A life long pursuit of improved mental health. Even professionals in the field such as psychologists or psychiatrists, need to delve in this; 4. A life long pursuit of some form of healthy exercise. Please note no. 4.
5 years ago when I was pushing 500 lbs my mom and gramma were scheduled to come visit. Ahead of their visit I lost 30 lbs or so. Still weighing 430 or so I had to sit on a sturdy ottoman we had to put on my socks. Gramma asked me what I'd do if I couldn't put them on myself. I said I'd go on a diet or eat a bullet. 5 years later I'm still just over 300. One of these days I'll get in the 200 range again. One of these days. I do wonder about people that hit that tipping point and just give up.
Depression and poverty often plays a big part in that situation. Once you start to slide it can snowball really fast.
I agree on the poverty part. Fat is cheaper than good food. There's also a ignorance of the consequences of eating that food that's an important component. This is a wonderful example of how brainstorming can be a great thing.
In poor countries the poor are skinny and the rich are fat. In rich countries the poor are fat and the rich are skinny. Eating healthy takes time and money. I have all sorts of toys in my kitchen that make cooking fun and easy, but they also add up to an insane amount of money. Also look up the term food desert. Cooking at home is cheaper when you have all the gear and small items you need and experience to do it well. If you don't then McDonalds really is cheaper.
