I think Olshey is offering a combination of Turner, Meyers and maybe Harkless for everyone who is available. Of course that deal won’t make any sense for anybody we try to offer it to but at least it prevents media from being under impression that he does nothing. It’s basically going around in circles and it will continue until their contracts are off the books (though I think he will extend Meyers in 2020). Maybe he’s making Swanigan and Aminu available too. That’s pretty much it.
I get the salaries match up nicely but why else does the media keep suggesting Portland would do a CJ for Love swap? We would have a bigger hole at guard after that trade than we do at forward without it and the talent acquired isn’t a significant enough upgrade to justify that. I even read one suggestion saying Portland should give up CJ and Nurk for Love. We are a total after thought in the eyes of the media, are players don’t even hold the value for us that they would for other teams, it’s pretty laughable.
Porzingis is worth significantly more than Love. And we saw what the market price for him is. That makes Love worth one first round pick and filler.
Assuming you can't get AD for a good deal, and you could get Love for something like that, wouldn't it be worth a shot? The passing alone would be amazing. Assuming Love could refind his outside shot, that would be a pretty tough combo to defend Lillard CJ Aminu? Harkless? Layman Love Nurkic And you might be able to nurse Love's minutes to keep him healthy.
Exactly. Cleveland should take anything they can to get out of that contract. They are trying to go young (At least they should be) and Portland can offer ending contracts after next season. They should beg Portland for Meyers and ET and a draft pick. Of course if someone else can offer ending contracts for this season...then that would trump our offer.
Can’t believe people would want Love at this point. That contract and his injuries and level of play yikes
