And how many of those trades would have helped a rival beat them? None. We are a direct rival. They weren't going to help us knock them out of the first round next year.

He has made it clear verbally on multiple occasions over the years, in multiple interviews. I watched an interview a few years ago in which he said the same thing.

There have been several links already posted. They are backed up by what actually happened.

If it makes you feel better to ignore reality in order to hate on somebody I just don't know what to tell you...

I'm not trying to hate on you. And I fail to see what reality I'm ignoring. I simply showed that throughout the years, they just don't make many trades AT ALL. The very few that they have made were split between east and west. None really included a big star, but those trades in general are few and far between.
None of the links provided showed a direct quote from Pop, just assumptions, or sources say. Which is fine, but their history doesn't necessarily back up those sources, because there is no real history.

I personally thought you worded your post objectively and I recall from memory pretty much the same info you posted.

So, I went to basketball-reference and checked RC Buford's executive page.

It shows his transactions (signed / traded / selected) with the Spurs beginning July 17, 2002.

I just can’t see a well run organization like the spurs cut their potential suitors in half for something as weak as “keeping kawhi out of the conference.” What difference does the conference make, get the best deal possible and move on. Why limit yourself? Makes no sense. That’s a move an idiot like Magic Johnson would make.

So why can't we just go after a guy with one year remaining and adding like a 2nd rounder to get him? That would be an asset we could trade at the deadline or they could expire before we get taxed, right?

I had to click on the link just to find out he worked for the Oregonian. That's how relevant his job is.

Crabbe was not an asset when we traded him. He was a bad contract we needed to get rid of and it’s good job that we had managed to do it without attaching any assets.

We should not have had that problem in the first place though because we should not have signed him to that contract.

I would bet anything that Neil is on vacation and the offices are closed. We're all sitting here updating twitter and holding the last lil breath of hope-- pointless. I'll prolly shut down for the summer here in a bit as well.

Someone tell me what his car looks like, and I'll roll by the PF and tell you if it's there.
