The last US President to stand up to Iran was Carter, while candidate Reagan cut a treasonous bargain trading arms for an agreement to NOT release the hostages while Carter was President.

Carter mounted a daring military rescue which the Deep State sabotaged to prevent a likely re-election of Carter.

Actually Ross Perot hired a private team to get his people out of Iran when Carter wouldn't do it....real news.

Half-real, Carter never "wouldn't do it". The Deep State leaders in our military committed treason by deliberately 'tanking" because they wanted the more controllable Reagan in the White House.

As a Blazers fan you should recognize tanking when you see it.

The difference was that those were private individuals who chose to be there for the money and the people Carter tried to liberate worked for the government and were serving their country.

Although I found Perot to be a terrible candidate for President, I greatly admire him for getting his people out. It's the part where I admire him that I'll remember him the most.

I don't support any bullshit war, or Trumps posturing, but let's not all pretend Trump started this whole Iran fiasco. The powers that be have been trying to gain support to topple Iran for many years now. Both Democrats and Republicans have been grooming this narrative for quite some time. If Trump actually starts a war over this he's a fuck head. I doubt he will, though. The US public has been conditioned to hate Iran for so many years now, politicians have to 'get tough' with them (talk a bunch of shit) every few years to to not look like pussies I guess. Gotta keep the ill-informed masses happy. Don't you guys remember Hillary's platform in the last election? It was basically "Fuck Iran, let's bomb them".

You put more faith in Trump than I do. I consider him the proverbial loose cannon.

It's not faith, I just really don't think he will do shit. He's got no personal financial incentive to go to war like the past few presidents have had. Of course, you never know which scumbag lobbyists have been the devils on his shoulders lately. His financial interests could change, then I'd be worried.

If Trumpy feels like he has a chance to lose the next election ..... get ready for a war somewhere. Nothing raises a presidents favorability like a war.
