I keep hearing this speculation in the media about how Torre is on the hot seat in NY. I hate the Yankees, but over the years watching this team I have to say that this is absolutely insane to think this guy could possible be on the hot seat to get fired. The Yankees have so many pitching problems and it is the #1 reason why they are in the position they are in. What do you guys think about this? Yankees fans are always so quick to pull the trigger on someone. A-Rod was public enemy #1 in NY before the start of this season, he's no tearing it up and he's a hero there.
New York fans/media are just a retarded bunch. That guy's won how many titles and the media is willing to throw him under the bus because they didn't get any pitching help this off season? Give me a break.New York fans get what they deserve with they're general stupidty.
My dad and I were discussing the entire "Fire Torre" thing today...and I agree with what he said. He basically said this:It's not Torre's fault the pitching we have has not only been hurt REALLY BADLY, but also isn't all that great to begin with. The lineup, during the 8 or 9 game strech has been hitting poorly. No t just one person. Damon, Melky, Abreu, Matsui, Mientkiwicz, etc. have all been bad at the plate. If you can't pitch, you better OUTSCORE teams which we haven't done. One thing Torre did the past two games though, is he took Wang and Igawa out too soon IMO. They, especially Igawa, were pitching very well. Wang was so-so, but with a tired bullpen, and generally been pretty ineffective due to the fact of how many innings, why not give Wang that extra inning and take a chance and see how he does? Or give Igawa that extra two innings, hell, maybe he could go the distance.FYI: I'm not a huge Torre fan. A lot of the W.S. success had to do with Don Zimmer making calls on the bench, however Torre is a good skipper for a situation for this because he shows NO PANIC and keeps players calm and doesn't get them down during a slump at the plate, in the field, or on the mound. He should not be fired.
Torre is an idiot. How can you not blame him? And he isnt quite on the hot seat yet, they will just fire everyone else like oooooooooooh um the PHYSICAL TRAINER? Cmon how pathetic are the Yankees. You cant blame anyone for the pitchers being hurt, but you guys have to realize, torre is the one who orders the pitching rotation. He is killing that bullpen, making players pitch more than they should, using them more than they should, and burning them out. No wonder the Yankees have been so Terrable. If Torre wants to save himself as a Yankee, he better ship A-rod out because he is a waist of space, hits meaningless homeruns, although he has had a few walk offs this year, and when it comes to the cluth he messes up, so Torre if you want your job, ship out Arod..........
I'm bringing this back up, because I'm starting to feel it is the time:Fire Torre.I'm sick of seeing him in the dugout, with not a care in the World. Somebody's gotta go to wake this f*cking team up, and Joe's had a great run, but everyone's run is eventually going to end, and the timeing would be now.I heard if the Yankees lose today, and lose 2 of 3 to the Sox, he's gone.
Well you can pretty much guarantee a Red Sox sweep..they've won I think 10 out of their last 13 and can't be stopped. It's at Fenway too.I don't get why you wanna fire Torre. How about firing Steinbrenner who's halted the development of stars in the farm system for years to sign overpaid out of their prime players because he's a stubborn F*ck.

The New York fans want to win right away without any wait, so they don't have the time to do what the Marlins do and build up their young players from day one, and then when those players get to their best trade away those players like Beckett for more great prospects like Hanley Ramirez that they can develop over the years. Up until this year, that plan had been working, and the Yankee's were going to the post season every year.
It has nothing to do with being in N.Y. The Mets are in New York, and they had a few bad years to develop guys like Wright, Reyes, John Maine, etc. etc. It's all about signing and trading for the guys at the right time. We've gone overboard with the stars though, I will say that. Some of it has been Cashmen's fault. Some of his moves have just flat out sucked that he's made...Joe Torre isn't really the problem, but as we all know, if the manager is going to take the credit for 4 W.S. rings, he's gotta take the blame for not escaping the first round of the playoffs, and a terrible start with a plenty talented lineup. With that said, everyone can't pull a Joe Paterno in football...Joe Torre has to go some time. The Yankees are now looking a lot better, in the 6th inning the Yankees are owning the Sox. It looks like the Yanks can either sweep or at least take 2 of 3 because we have our horses on the mound here...

Obviously when your starting pitching is heavily injured and you have to start pitchers from the minor leagues, which the Yankee's have been doing....your bullpen has to pick up the slack....Your post is complete nonsense. Torre can only do so much. Derek Jeter knows that and has supported Torre, Steinbrenner knows it and has given Torre a vote of confidence.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (MaRdYC26 @ May 21 2007, 08:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>It has nothing to do with being in N.Y. Until then, no one even cared about the Mets, or worried about them. The Yankee's get booed for having slow starts to the season. They obviously are not going to have time to wait for a young group of players to get ready for a couple of years. Those young players will be booed out of town by that time.

Torre has failed for almost 7 straight years now with a team that expects to win it all every year..I know its near impossible to pull that off, but thats the yankees. and if he doesn't deliver this year and they get anymore worse this season, then he should be gone by the end of the year. hopefully this BoSox series win can turn things around for you guys.

The players like him, he's won championships with the Yankees, he shouldn't take the fall for stupid GM/Ownership mistakes.
