I am not a fan of the intentional foul....if they have it they should make it like a goaltend and turnover...2 pts and the ball..that'll make them think twice about it. Your man beats you downcourt....it's on you.
I think there are too many games. The season should probably be down to 60 games or so - I find that I can not turn into each game at times simply because there are so many of them.
Lack of parity and competitiveness. Big Market Favoritism. Catering to the Casual Fan instead of the Die-Hard Fan.
Because the games mean more and there are no back to backs. Every possession is more important. Depth doesn't matter as much.
James Harden Kevin Durant Warriors Rockets Flops Star calls - a foul is a foul call it Biased officiating Adam Silver ESPN/TNT commentators Late starts to Blazer games on TNT double headers...Blazers are always the 2nd game and tipoff is always delayed. The only think I'm sick and tired of is losing. Last season was better than most but the playoffs yet again ended with a loss.
Sick and tired of rewarding 3 points from GQ land. In the paint with elbows and power moves should be 3 points!
Instant replay and the way it's currently used. It's so fucking stupid having an on-court ref wander over to the sidelines and stare at a monitor awkwardly while the whole arena waits 2-3 minutes. Fans at home can rewatch plays and easily tell if it was a foul within 15 seconds of the play. Why not just have a ref do the same? Only refs on the court can stop action. Have a ref sit in a room and speak into the earpiece of the ref on the court. "I watched it 3 times, Larry, he flopped. No foul. Move on." You could have instant replay on practically every foul, and just have the guy watching TV override the on-court ref only when he judges it necessary. TV ref gets the final say. There are never stoppages for review. Even if they are lining up for a free throw, the TV ref can interrupt it and just cancel the free throws (before the ball is handed to the shooter) if he deems it the wrong call. You rotate refs so that sometimes they are on court and sometimes on TV, just so they all get a feel for how to manage the game. If the on-court ref isn't sure of the call, he can always stall for 20-30 seconds while the TV ref makes up his mind. But TV ref has an upper limit of 30 seconds--if he doesn't know by then you just play on. An added benefit is that it'd remove a ton of the home court bias and the whining at refs. Somebody isolated from the noise of the crowd and the whining of superstars can just go ahead and make the right call without worrying about the pressure.
The flailing, whining and crying to the refs on virtually every possession. Lebron James. He's great, we get it People thinking we are a super team It's not the NHL
meyers evan turner superteams the slam dunk comp the lack of traditional banger PFs and C's as the game is so overboardly guard orientated these days. 'spacing' assholes hitting big shots when you know they are good players but just near impossible to like our huge lack of guards on the team
openly tanking "the modern game" Alpha male GMs who are in love with hearing themselves talk, fill up press conferences with strikingly bold proclamations, then return to the office cowering at the thought of making trades. Are we mice or men? The all-star game TV show. I don't "watch" it anymore. (Correction: I mean "listen" to the shitty music. There's no game to watch.) Shooting without considering passing options, missing, then the commentator exclaims with admiration, "He shot without hesitation!" as if that's something good. "He won't miss many of those!" Ever heard of court vision?
