Not sure about that, especially for us. Nets want their cap space next year and Carroll is expiring which helps that as he’s $15.4million this season. If we traded for him we would need to send equivalent of that back and we cannot do this in expiring contracts (maybe some combination of Aminu + 2-3 young players but it makes zero sense).

I dunno who LaVert is, but I'm not trading a lotto pick for Carroll. Maybe we get lucky (or unlucky as some might view it) and it's NOT a lotto pick, but at this point I'm viewing our pick as a high-potential lotto pick and will value it as such.

Olshey said he was going to get players with Playoff experience so you'd think someone like Carroll might at least be a possibility....but instead, Steak Sauce and Curry......a big whopping ZERO!

No offense, but if you don't know 1 of the 3 players in the trade is it really a good idea to comment about the trade?

The 1st is in there because of the extra year on Turner's contract, not because I think Carroll is worth a 1st.

Considering Brooklyn loves ex-Blazers and draft picks right now we should've dumped salary on them with a 1st to get Lin and Carroll. Something like our 24th pick, Leonard, and Turner for those two.

We’ve gone to pining over Kawhi to ‘oh hell yeah Demare Carroll.’

Yup, this is what being a Blazer fan feels like.

Oh wait no Demare Carroll? Olshey spent it all on Valet Parking?

Ohhhh thiiiiis is what being a Blazer fan feels like!

By the end of the season, Nik Stauskas will be the starting SF. Book it.

Nik is a baller. I watch him several times while at UM, he's a scrapper and I think fans will warm up to him because of that. Plus he's not knock down shooter.

What we need to do at SF is to have Harkless and Layman become consistent 45% 3pt. shooters. That would solve a lot of problems.

He led the country in 3pt shooting at Michigan...quick release...also can work the pick and roll and finish...Stotts will love this guy's shooting

Warriors put 5 3pt shooters on the court most of the time...I think that's the big picture for us this season...out shoot the Warriors

Actually the warriors really don’t do that, they usually put 3 really good 3 point shooters and then a couple guys who “can” shoot but are mainly defenders and facilitators.
But most of there really effective lineups include guys like Draymond or Iggy whose main purpose of being on the floor is to keep the ball moving and to play defense.

?? Curry, Klay, Draymond, Durant, Boogie, Iggy, all 3 pt shooters....not sure your point...only Mcghee and the Turk were not deep shooters...their small ball lineup can hit the 3 from all over the court

    Draymond is a career 32% 3 poin
t shoot and last year shot 30%. Iggy short 28% from 3 last year.
They added boogie this season and he is a 35% shooter which is good, decent not great.
My point is the idea that GS just stick a bunch of 3 point shooters out there and score isn’t really accurate. Outside of KD who can be a ball stopper, that team is successful because they move so well without the ball and they always have a guy sometimes 2 whose jobs is to facilitate and yes they have the green light to shoot, but it’s omly real purpose is to keep the defense honest.

They make a ton of 3s....by committee...they pass the ball really well but they knock em down all over the place....make team's pay for leaving a guy open in the corner all the time. Something we lacked last season...it's not the percentage...it's that they make them when they need them....they hit buzzer beaters....I think we could be a better 3 pt shooting team than them....especially our bench

Fair enough, I guess what’s i was getting at was that’s I feel like the Blazers could really use a guy like Nurk to facilitate better - they might have to encourage him to take that 15-18 foot jump shot a bit more though. I am a big proponent for passing the ball and players actually moving. I hate the contract but I believe they wanted ET to fill that role, it’s just not really what he’s good at. GS when they go on those game changing runs it’s almost always ball movement, player movement, good shots as a result.
