I can't even begin to imagine what the fuck they think they are doing. Had a tooth extraction scheduled recently and they did something similar and I told them to fuck off.
We told those cardiac clowns that you wanted this thread to beat the “New Melo to Portland” thread. They said they’d be happy to oblige and would give us some conversation fodder. They certainly had no problem processing our request. Hopefully you’ll be careful what you wish for in the future.........
It seems more and more like the world is being run by kids and idiots. Try to to MacDonald's and getting an order right. Maybe it's got something to do with minimum wage being so absurdly low or maybe it's got something to do with the cost of higher education being so high with no way to borrow the money to go to college that less and less people go to the trouble to better themselves. Or, maybe it's got something to do with jobs aplenty that pay such low wages that nobody can afford to send their kids to college.
No.....I have insurance from the marketplace....never use the VA much because I feel there are vets in line who need the VA more than I ever have....I have my own insurance...it's just that someone got lazy with my paperwork.
Damn man. That sucks not only did you get up early but your family took time off work. Damn hospitals and the beuracractic shit. You were going to get zapped right? Jeez. Now you have to wait half a month even though your insurance paid. Sorry man. Glad you are feeling better
Great news....last couple days I can do something I couldn't for several weeks now...I can yawn....simple joy in life....feels so good I've been doing it all day...lost that skill for a long stretch! Hey! The things we take for granted!
WFT?! I don't know how I missed this thread! Please take care of yourself @riverman. You're a good bloke, and this place wouldn't be the same without you. Take it easy, and ignore posters that wind you up. As for novels, I just finished reading The Fort by Bernard Cornwell (about the Penobscot Expedition) who also wrote the Sharpe series (which were made into a TV series staring Sean Bean), and the Saxon Stories (which were made into the Last Kingdom TV series). A Sci-Fi author I have particularly enjoyed is former US Naval officer John G. Hemry/Jack Campbell (especially his Lost Fleet series). I find his descriptions of space battle quite realistic/plausible. Lastly, one of the best novel series I have ever read is the Ibis Trilogy by Amitav Ghosh; telling the build up to the Opium Wars from the Indian, and Chinese perspective. Just don't rush the novels, relax, take your time, and let the author draw you into the world he creates.
I don't know how far it's possible to cruise up the Columbia, or the Willamette, but that would make a great podcast/blog. @riverman and @MarAzul RipCityTwo's odd couple, cruising the rivers of Oregon one town at a time.
much thanks DUB.....! Thanks for the Bernard Cornwell and Amitov Gosh recommendations....I'm going to check the library for those books.
Marzul loves to sail. I'll bet it wouldn't take much to get him up for it. Marzy built his own beautiful boat with his own hands. Lives in a nice home in the woods on the Southern Oregon coast. I had the pleasure of taking a cruise on the Willamette with Marzy's brother. Very very gracious family.
The smoke has been in the unhealthy and below categories for several weeks now and it's been in the mid to upper 90s, so that's been rather pleasant. As long as you stay in air conditioning it's okay, and the smoke from the Redding fire isn't up here yet, so there's that. How's the situation up there?
beautiful here....my son is waiting for the train to reschedule so he can go back to California and work...was supposed to leave Fri but looks like tomorrow at the earliest
