I asked him to double speed all of your highlights so you thought you were all fast and shit.

That dude in the grey tank in the last game looked like he was getting pissed.

It's a promo that you can have a Timbers shirt made with any name you want on the back. Lots of people at the games wearing jerseys with their names on it.

But did you look at his body? Pretty sure it was him.

I'm pretty sure it was him as well. What I was explaining is that lots of people have had custom Timbers jerseys with their names on them at the games as a way of showing support for the Timbers.

I very much doubt that Meyers bought that and instead it was given to him by the Timbers.

I don't think a guy 7' tall needs to have a name on the back of a shirt for people to know who he is though, lol

Meyers was wearing that same jersey while helping out with homeless people earlier that day. Handing out food and water in this heat. Give this dude a break. I know he hasn’t lived up to expectations and may never, but he is a quality dude. Family guy who has been thru a lot. Loves this city and it’s people. I joke and crack on here as much as anybody, but ease off this dude. He’s just a big sensitive guy from a small Midwest town who likes to joke around and happens to be 7’0” and got somebody to give him a ton of money because of it. He’s not out getting in fights at bars and getting DUIs.

quality post right here! I'm going to cheer for him to play well all season. I'm bored with the stigma he's got around here...ready to see him come off the bench and hold his own...he actually did that last season and definitely did not deserve to be booed for entering a home game...that one actually pissed me off..

I can understand the hate. It’s normal for fans to feel that way towards somebody who has not panned out like they think he should. Just wanted to shed some light, whether wanted or not. I’ve seen this guy pay for peoples meals at restaurants on the road. He’s a big ass kid making a ton of money playing a game.

I think that's the source of frustration for a lot of fans who want him to be more than just a kid making money playing a game, but to be a competitor demonstrating a desire to be great. I don't know if he has that internal competitive fire to maximize his physical potential, and while that should be OK, in the minds of many, it just isn't.

I agreed two seasons ago and the seasons leading up to it but last season he played in 33 games avg 7minutes a game and rebounded the ball really well...played in the paint...in such a small sample size he did play well...with Ed gone I expect he'll get more court time this year..last season the only complaint I had was the flexing and posing....

I suspect the same, and I'm hoping he is able to produce reasonably well in the role. However, I won't deny also hoping for the Koufos trade that has been suggested elsewhere so that Meyers can be slid back to third string.

I think the lack of fire is a bit of a board narrative. He's spent the past two summers working with Drew Hanlen on his game.
