There is a chance that they will become part of a new playoff trend. What's the trend? Okay, here it is:"When you're on a significant playoff drougt, make some kind of push to make the playoffs. Then, once your playoff run is finished, make or allow some stupid move which becomes a contributing factor to not making the playoffs the next year."<u>Examples:</u><u>2004: Minnesota Timberwolves (58-24, Number-one seed in the West)-</u> Reached Western Confernece Finals, allowed Cassell and Spreewell to go, and have not reached the playoffs since.<u>2005: Seattle Sonics (52-30)-</u> Reached Western Semi-finals, let go of Nate McMillian & was 35-47 the next year and 31-51 the year after. <u>2006: Los Angeles Clippers (47-35)-</u> Reached Western Semi-finals for the first time ever, did not do anything to add more depth, and finished the 06-07 season with a (40-42) record, narrowly missing the playoffs.Does anybody see Golden State going down this road?
why don't we wait until there is, say, at least some sort of rumor that they'll make any moves before randomly starting a panic thread based on three weak at best examples.
Hey, I'm just starting comversation. Besides, there were no rumors going around Minnesota or Seattle before they collapsed. You never know, you seem to be very scared of the possibility.

It's a rather pointless topic a discussion to point towards a hypothesis without a scrap of evidence or interest to it.
Well, there is a thread in the General NBA (The "Trade Idea Thread") about trades that have no backing behind them. but it's still interesting to explore the possibility. So I don't find this useless, it's basically a "what if" question because it could very well happen. And furthermore, if you don't like the thread, don't reply smart guy.
