    No.

    Yes.

One of these things is not like the other. Butler is a lock down defender who can replace C.J.'s scoring. Wiggins is an inefficient chucker who doesn't do anything else. Wiggins is a worse version of C.J. Wiggins only advantages are his height and his age. He doesn't take advantage of either. He has a higher USG% and gets half the assists C.J. does. Posters complain about all the C.J. isos, Wiggins is twice as bad in this respect. C.J. for Wiggins wouldn't even be a lateral, it would be a downgrade.

Butler, I'd take in a heartbeat. Wiggins, I'd only consider if one of Trent Jr, or Simons look like they are unexpectedly and remarkably ready to be a starting SG in the NBA. It wouldn't make Wiggins any better, it would just make C.J. more expendable.

Isn't Wiggins better than our current SF's Harkless, Turner, Aminu, or Layman?

Probably but he’s much worse than CJ.

In what way is Wiggins better than Harkless?

    upload_2018-8-2_11-24-10.png

Wiggins is more aggressive offensively, has a lower TO%, and commits fewer fouls. They're pretty even in reb/ast. Aside from that, Harkless is actually superior pretty much across the board.

Wiggins has had a negative VORP* every year of his NBA career, including 2016-17 when he averaged 23.6 ppg. Do you know how bad you have to suck at everything else to score 23.6 ppg, yet still be worse than a min contract"replacement player"? REALLY bad.

*Value over Replacement Player (VORP) converts the BPM rate into an estimate of each player's overall contribution to the team, measured vs. what a theoretical "replacement player" would provide, where the "replacement player" is defined as a player on minimum salary or not a normal member of a team's rotation.

That's just it. CJ and Harkless are better duo than a duo of Wiggens and Harkless and it wouldn't be close.

Any interest in a package deal that would send CJ to the Magic for Evan Fournier or Aaron Gordon trade?

Gordon's not acquirable since he just re-signed, but no, not really. Definitely not for Fournier; he's even worse defensively than CJ.

It is. Still, that's not to say that I wouldn't want Fournier on the team. He'd be perfect in Turner's role, coming off the bench behind CJ and Harkless. If we could trade Turner and a first for Fournier, I'd be all over that. But I don't think even Orlando is that stupid.

So Turner and a 1st round pick (Meyers was a 1st round pick) for Fournier. Okay...I'm in.

No, it's not the same, because in my trade we get the best player in the deal.

I like Tyreke but he is not better than CJ. There is a reason no one has given him a long term contract the last two summers.

This season it was because nobody had money.

He's a better defender, passer, rebounder, and inside scorer. Last year, he was a better outside scorer as well. Plus, he can play 3 positions effectively.

Why didn't Indy offer him more than a one year deal if he is so good then?

Fournier has one more year left at 17mil than Turner and Turner's defense is far better than Fournier. No way I give up a first round pick for him also.

Great question. I think he feels like he's worth more and expects his market next off-season to be more robust. Indiana might want him to prove last year wasn't a little bit of a flume in terms of shooting.

Tot didn't argue any part of my post though. What's CJ better at?

CJ's a better scorer and ball handler. CJ had a really bad stretch towards the end of last year that makes his shooting numbers less impressive but I'd take CJ's efficiency over his career over a one year (52 game) sample.
