I worked first hand with photo journalists and war correspondents in Viet Nam....nothing funny about what these folks did to report on the war...some died doing their jobs....we as radiomen got to censor their work by Nixon's directive to ….slant the news feed to make us look better than the truth showed after the fact....took a big eraser to things we weren't supposed to give to the media...don't confuse these folks with Oprah and Sean Hannity...some brave people...the photo journalists were among the bravest...didn't write a word...just documented the war with the picture is worth a thousand words mentality...makes me sick to see them called, "fakenews"

 

A lot of that slanting of the news was due to General Westmoreland.

 

He towed the Nixon line.....there was a culture of what they don't see won't hurt them...right up to the end of the war

war correspondents are not new anchors generally....most of them work completely out of the spot light....there are fluff anchors hired for their good teeth and full head of hair and there are the scarred, alcoholic front line journalists who wouldn't sniff a major news anchor job...most would have a hard time not cussing on air

I would rather YouTube mark them as Nazi /KKK or whatever but not stop the information. I hate that talk but if we ban ithen we don’t fight against it accurately

 

Nobody stops them from building their own website, having their Grand Wazoo Gestapo gatherings...playing with snakes in the swamp....but privately owned companies don't have to allow them to advertise or give them airtime any more than they have to let tobacco advertise or pornographers to advertise...choices...

 

If anything this recent banning just confirms certain things Jones has said about these big companies. I don’t agree with him most of the time but he’s harmless. What happened to free speech? It’s being taken away very slowly. Jones wasn’t spewing hate speech. Just being whacky and talking about whacky conspiracies. There are worse things on YouTube than Alex that will go on to exist on YouTube

 

as barfo pointed out...Jones has free speech...just not a prime location for his soap box ...he can say whatever he wants....facebook and youtube can block anyone they want. No law stops them from doing that. You can still go to his website and listen to him everyday...if he joined this forum... hell I could get Sly to ban him for 50 bucks....first time he threatens to shoot someone I promise he gets the ban hammer...as he should. If facebook and youtube ban him you too are free to not support their websites in protest...or write to them and complain about it...they don't have to give a shit though...they're all for profits and traffic.
