...considering the mountain of emails, paper trails, etc., Gates was just icing on the cake. ...slam dunk case.
Do you know that lying under oath after accepting a plea deal is illegal and would mean all the original charges would be put back on Gates and he would be going to prison for a long time, maybe as long as Manafort will be in prison for. Gates has incentive to tell the truth.
Manafort ain't going to prison. He's gonna flip either at the last minute or even after the trial. Do you think he wants to spend the rest of his life in prison? He'll weasel out of most of the charges by flipping his middle finger at Mr. Potato Head.
...if he rolls on Captain Comb-over it would be worth it...but I think that ship may have already sailed...although there will be a long time between conviction and sentencing...maybe time enough for "a deal".
...Judge Ellis has been acting like an over-officious dick since the trial began...maybe this will tone his act down a bit; 10:01 a.m.: Judge Ellis begins court with mea culpa for outburst over expert U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III has raked prosecutors from the special counsel’s office over the coals for the past week and a half. But on Thursday, he backed down, telling jurors to ignore one piece of criticism. Live coverage Day 7: 4:29 p.m.: Prosecutors call a witness who has watched the whole trial, angering Judge Ellis (UPDATE: who earlier permitted it)] “The Court’s sharp reprimand of government counsel in front of the jury on August 8 was therefore erroneous,” the prosecutors wrote. “And, while mistakes are a natural part of the trial process, the mistake here prejudiced the government by conveying to the jury that the government had acted improperly and had violated court rules or procedures. The exchange could very well lead the jury to reach two erroneous inferences: (a) that Mr. Welch’s testimony is not credible because he was improperly privy to the testimony of other witnesses, and (b) that the government sought to secure an unfair advantage by secreting its expert in the courtroom without permission…This prejudice should be cured.” Ellis said Thursday that he had not actually read the transcript, which was attached to the government motion. But, the judge said, “I was probably wrong.” He added that he makes mistakes, “like any human — and this robe doesn’t make me any more than a human.” He concluded, “Any criticism of counsel should be put aside — it doesn’t have anything to do with this case.”
...uhhh, no, he didn't...nice spin though...what exactly has Gates lied about?...and what exactly is Mueller supposedly "guilty" of?
I volunteer at the local food bank with Manafort’s old college room mate (Georgetown). This guy has kept in fairly regular touch with Manafort over the years. We (amongst others) have been curious as to why Manafort has been adamant about keeping his mouth shut and we have to wonder if he isn’t far more afraid of the Russians over Trump and the American legal system. Looking at those who have crossed Putin recently and paid the price, it’s a reasonable surmise........
I love that people spouting real American crap and linking Fox news content are clueless to the fact that Rupert Murdoch....an Australian billionaire founded Fox news....
I would have to think that he is being careful on what he says. When the slightest deviation can be grounds to grind you to rat shit, give them nothing to compare to.
