Rumors are spreading again the Idris Elba will take up the mantle from Daniel Craig (who is making one more appearance as the famous British agent) and become the next James Bond. Director Antoine Fuqua met with Producer Barbara Broccoli to discuss who should take over the role of Bond when Craig departs. While names like Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddleston, and Michael Fassbender have been thrown around, Broccoli feels that an ethnic minority actor should portray Ian Flemming's secret agent, and that, "it will happen eventually" What do you guys think? Who should be the next Bond?
I hope Elba gets the nod. He has the acting chops and charisma to do a great job as Bond. He seems a touch old to begin a stint as Bond though. Fuqua has been hit or miss, but I like him. I'll be there when the movie comes out.
I told you guys he was good. If want to see how really good he is just watch "The Take". The bad news is that Elba says not to believe "... all the hype."
In related news, Dog The Bounty Hunter will replace Oprah Winfree in the upcoming epic remake of The Color Purple.
I've long thought that Henry Cavill would be excellent in the role, but since he's already Superman, it's doubtful that he'd be given another major franchise.
