Since when was clapping your hands a tech in this league? That ejection last night Jackson got was b/s and its a shame the NBAPA isn't trying to do something to help out. I know there's pretty much nothing that can be done because of the new CPA I believe but damn, this is getting ridiculus (sp). First laughing and now clapping, next its going to be chewing your gum the wrong way.
it's started being a technical in this series, which has had a technical crackdown like I've never seen since that portland-lakers game a couple years ago where they had like 9 techs. We shall see whether this is a precedent or simply an obiter dictum after the series is over.
Its just pathetic, the guy was clapping not even looking at the ref or anything and gets ejected, didn't say anything either. Especially in the playoffs, its just getting pathetic and it seems like the league supports this bullcrap. Now, let it have been Nash or Lebron and that ref would be suspended for the rest of the season and that's wrong too.
It's fricken ridiculous, I wish the league would get it's act together and finally figure out whats f*cking okay and whats not f*cking okay....
I agree... the NBA better not suspend Jackson for this, because if they do, they pretty much cost Golden State any chance they have of winning this series. That technical was absolutely ridiculous.
Y'all didn't hear the new rules? No laughing, or clapping.. I wonder if your allowed to pass the ball now without getting a T.
Imagine it in any other place though.Your at school and you get a detention. You immediately stand up from your desk and start applauding. What do you think is going to happen. Your damn crazy if you think that the other team isn't going to get the ball after that....
It's been called before the series. There's a difference between clapping your hands for enjoyment and clapping your hands in a sarcastic manner to stand up refs. He's not saying anything vocally but he says plenty with his gesture. And I think that warrants a technical, as for a toss. Obviously not.But that's more on Baron Davis clapping, I really didn't see much with the Jackson thing. It seemed like it happened when the game was over with like 10 seconds left.
He got t'd up for clapping? I was following the game on my cell phone and wondered why the hell he got a freakin Tech with like 20 seconds left. Seems kinda anal to me, but I don't know the whole story.

His team had just missed a another 3 or whatever, the foul was called Jackson was walking down the court just clapping his hands which I thought he was trying to get his teammates together and he got t'd up. I think it was BS, and even if he was its the playoffs man let it go. But nah, the refs have to be the story here, they just have to show their authority which I think is just plain wrong. He's clapping his hands, he's no where near the ref, he's not bothering anyone just let it go.
And he wasn't even looking at the referee or in his general direction... if he was, I could see why he would be hit with a technical, but he wasn't.
I most certainly have to agree that the 2nd Stephen Jackson ejection was complete bullsh**. They always say "he was mocking the officials." Ugh, how do they know what they were feeling when they were clapping? Maybe it was to pump up his team, maybe he was just clapping for himself to calm himself down (because he didn't agree with the call). It doesn't necessarily mean that he was thinking to himself "Hey guys, watch this... I'm gonna clap so the ref will get mad!" The NBA has turned into a pussy sport run by Sternbots. On a side note: You think this rule is crazy, remember when they released something that stated that swaying side to side was not allowed during the National Anthem anymore?
I just don't understand why the ref gave ME a technical for clapping after the Suns won game 5 against LA...
