I have one nurse and two technicians that work on me most of every week and none of them would slap anyone. They are the nicest people you ever met. Side note: I have one Samoan technician, just entering his last year of medical school at OHSU, who also works on me on a regular basis who may be the nicest person I've ever met. Spent the whole summer assisting in a variety of operations all gratis in American Samoa. What a guy. Just thought I'd throw that in 'cause I really like nice people (Sorry, El Presidente, j/k).
When you are lecturing actual filipinos on what is and what is not offensive to filipinos, you are basically doing what you call whitesplaining (but its blacksplaining since you are black).
