With the incredible sucess of science threads in this forum, I decided to start my own.

I have been reading Erich Von Daniken's, Chariots of the Gods.

It is an interesting look at the past of humankind. Daniken supposes that extraterrestrials visted our ancestors in ancient times and we mistook them as God(s). They gave us information to help us evolve as a civilzation. Our ancestors scratched pictures of them into cave walls, inside pyramids, on sacred monunents. The oral and written historys of ancient peoples speak of such encounters with beings who came from the skies in ships. Were they coming back to see how the planet they seeded had turned out?

Daniken also uses versus from the bible as proof...

And God said, let us make men in our image - Genisis 1:2

Why, if there is only one God, is it plural? We and us implies there were many Gods, who made us in their image (if in fact we were made by a God)

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, whenthe sons of God came in to thedaughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the menof renown. The first mention of "sons of God" Genesis 6:1-4.

The sons of God? Aliens? Breeding with humans? Nephilim their offspring?

Their spawn our acient heroes. Hercules? Theseus? Perseus? Achilles?

I was thinking about this. Pondering further, and I began to wonder.

What if it wasn't aliens at all? What if we were our own Gods. Eventually, our technology will advance to the point that time machines are created. (Well, as long as we don't destroy oursrlves, or get pummled by a giant rock from space.) We will use the time machine(s) to travel back in time. Which means we already have. What if we went back in time only to realize that we indeed formed from primordial ooze, and there is no God. We wait for the vistors from space, and look at our spiffy time machines that resemble ufos. We realize we are the aliens. We have to make sure mankind survives. We jump in, we visit our ancestors, who bow down to us, and call us Gods. We offer them the knowledge neccessary to build the wheel, to start fire, etc. The knowledge neccessary for them to take the next step towards evolving. Becoming civilized. We say goodbye and wisk away in our time machines. They draw crude pictures of our time machines, and us in our proctective suits, in caves etc, build monuments and the like.

The knowledge of our true past is kept secret by a few who "need to know" to keep things going. The public cannot know at all costs. Such knowledge would cause untold chaos.

Its all crazy theory, but an interesting thought all the same

I have too much time on my hands.

Okay, now if you really want to mess up everything you think you know, read Gligamesh, Homers Odyessy and Iliad

...if "God" supposedly is the creator of earth, man, the heavens, the universe, etc.,...I have one question; Who created God?

...never gotten a logical answer to that one.

It very well may have been you that asked if I had read Gilgamesh...I had been so long ago, that I went and reread it a few weeks ago. I remembered most of the high points, but had forgotten what a fun read it was.

So. We are crossbreed with aliens according to those that know. Dennis Rodman proves it. Donald Trump lives it.

To understand that I think you have to understand the concept of infinity. Now, I consider myself a learned man yet I know that no human will ever understand the concept of infinity, least of all me.

...oh I understand the concept, I was simply spitballing as to whether God, as far as what most people perceive him to be, had parents.

Impossible, no one truly understands infinity. Well, no one who is mortal, at least.
