Let's put it this way, if you owned a business, would your business run better if you fired all employees when they'd been employed for X number of years, and replaced them with someone with no experience? As for the 5 year ban on congresspeople becoming lobbyists, I don't believe there is any such rule. Maybe you are thinking of the 5 year "ban" Trump signed regarding executive branch people from becoming lobbyists, but note that that actually weakened the rules in several respects. barfo
Yes, one was. Clinton was perceived as firing Sessions in part because he was a Republican holdover from the Reagan administration. I have no problem with either firing. It is the response of the Democrats and RINO(s) to one that is disgusting and disruptive.
I don't see how people having opinions is disruptive. If it is, then you should reconsider your opinions. If Trump is charged with obstructing justice, it will be Republicans that charge him. barfo
I understand you take with re: to a business. Usually a business model would be different than a government as it's depended on elected officials to serve, not to be employed as such. Im sure Trump would love to totally run the Gov as a business but he cannot, totally. Thats why he thinks he's a one termer. I stand corrected about the 5 year rule. Sometimes things get foggy!
I completely agree with you that government is not business. I only made that comparison because some in this forum feel it should be. I wish that we could have a true 'citizen legislature', but it isn't realistic as a part-time profession anymore. So they have to be our employees. We should treat them as such, give them promotions and pay raises when they do good, fire them when they do bad. Voters actually have the tools to resolve problems with congress already - they just refuse to use them consistently. barfo
Hah, I hear you... I don't feel marginalized as a woman most of the time either but I was looking for a generic word that was inclusive but not offensive... you gotta be careful what you say round here, people get offended easily!
