well, why are they so afraid to give the documents requested and why were 42,000 documents just turned over after closing time the day before the hearing? Seems someone was fucking up the process before it even started. Also, McConnell used the excuse that a year from the election was too close to the election to confirm a judge that Obama put forth and now 2 months before the election is okay? Who is really fucking this up?

Yeah, I've seen this argument several times, and it's really disingenuous.

Also, I completely disagreed with the notion that there was any reason for Obama not to fill that seat.
 
...no reason for the GOP to expect 42,000 documents to be read, much less digested in less than 24 hours. No reason for them to be in such a rush to ram this confirmation so hastily...none.

What did you expect? For the Dems to gladly confirm him? The republicans are the shit show. Changing rules so they can get their guy through. Holding back thousands of papers. Not given dems time to read through.

exactly, but the funniest part about the whole thing is that he claimed the republicans either read themselves or had aides read all 42,000 documents yesterday when they were given them. One of the Dems on the committee pointed out that was something like 7,000 documents per hour and had to be super readers to accomplish that. My biggest pet peeve is how the Republicans continually try and pass major legislation through with little to know input or discussion and just basically handed the bill and told to pass it. It happened with the ACA repeal, the tax plan and now the confirmation hearing. Like they have said, why the rush and not be given the appropriate documents in time and then open it for discussions.

...I understand that people may mistake my disdain for Trump as a sure sign that I'm a liberal/democrat...I'm neither. I have maintained since the beginning that "Trump scares the shit out of me"...and I'm just hoping he doesn't get us all killed before he leaves office.
...the once great GOP has become a caricature/cartoon...there are only 3-4 senators I have any use for...the rest are party first, America second.

Exactly. My sentiments to a T as when I was old enough to register to vote I purposely didn't want to be affiliated with any particular party and have said several times that I hate the party system and those that vote party first have always irked me. With that said, I see nothing good out of this current group of republicans and definitely see Trump as a hindrance to bringing the citizens of the USA together as he has been the major obstacle to bringing peace and harmony to the citizens of the United States
