Does it matter who pitches against this Yankee lineup? Players need to step up despite their
novice manager & his bubble gum factory. A word of advice for Boner........leave your pet project,
AJ Cole, in the bullpen. Try selecting any of the other 13 relievers. Results may be the same, but
at least we get to see a different face. Not very optimistic about tonight’s game.

Interesting point by Murti; but still both An-Du-it-Jar and Torres both need some one on one defensive tutoring. IF both were to continue to hit; and continue to error defensively it would only be a matter of time imo, before they could become trade bait; or find there way back to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre...

A-Roid is never the answer to tutor Miggy and/or anyone else. Like Dingleberry anytime he comes into contact with the team both might as well be Witch Dr's leaving behind residual series of jinxes...

The one thing I really liked about Pinella as a Mgr., was taking one on one time with Donnie BB; to personally provide hitting instructions; and it Paid Off big-time. An old SI I've got buried somewhere has an interview with #23, and goes into detail about Pinella's help during a short slump; of which Lou's help paid off big time...

Is baBoone so intimidated to take the field and give Torres instruction. Is doing as much beneath him, or does Boner have no confidence in his own past 2nd baseman defensive skills....

Miggy has 15 errors on the year. Torres 5 in 18 gms at SS, another 11 at 2nd in 87 gms.
Nettles first year in Pinstripes 1973 had 26 errors. I don't recall Nails making errors, not on the norm and I'm surprised at his stats, kinda sorta. Tho' imo from memory; when tight games were played or t/game was on the line, Nails often did his best Brooks impression.. (don't get me wrong, imho Nails walked on water, I mean nails).

    https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/n/nettlgr01.shtml

and this: (My beef with how erros are counted)
Analysts have questioned the usefulness and significance of errors as a metric for fielding skill. Notably, mental misjudgments, such as failure to cover a base or attempting a force out when such a play is not available, are not considered errors.
Imo they should be considered errors...

A more subtle, though more significant objection to the error, as sabermetricians have noted, is more conceptual. In order for a fielder to be charged with an error, he must have done something right by being in the correct place to be able to attempt the play. A poor fielder may "avoid" many errors simply by being unable to reach batted or thrown balls that a better fielder could successfully reach. Thus, it is possible that a poor fielder will have fewer errors than any fielder with higher expectancies.

damned, I promised myself no more manifestoes or treatises... :dammit: :sigh:

Miguel Andújar was named AL "Rookie of the Month" for August
    today, after -
    batting .320 (39-for-122) with 21R, 7 doubles, 10HR, 29RBI, 4BB and 1SB in 30 games...

Tied for the AL lead in HRs (with Oakland's Khris Davis), tied for the MLB lead in RBI (with Texas' Rougned Odor), tied for second in the Majors in hits...also won the award in June 2018.

Yankees rookies have won eight of the last 13 AL "Rookie of
the Month" Awards (Judge-4, Andújar-2, Torres, Sánchez).

Marked the fifth time in Yankees history that a rookie hit at least 10HR in a calendar month, following Aaron Judge (15HR in Sept. 2017, 10HR in April 2017, 10HR in June 2017) and Gary Sánchez (11HR in August 2016)...

Tied forthe third-highest RBI total by a Yankees rookie in a month,
joining Bob Meusel (42RBI in July 1920), Judge (32RBI in
Sept. 2017), Hideki Matsui (29RBI in June 2003), Bill Johnson
(29RBI in July 1943) and Joe DiMaggio (29RBI in June 1936).

Was the second rookie in Yankees history to hit .320-or-better with at least 10HR in a month (Judge, June 2017).

    Has reached base safely in a career-high 17 consecutive games (since 8/17), batting .333/.373/.565 (23-for-69) with 14R, 4 doubles, 4HR, 17RBI and 5BB over that span.

Leads Major League rookies in hits (146), doubles (38), RBI (76),
SLG (.527) and is tied for the lead in HRs (23)...ranks fourth among Yankees all-time rookie leaders in doubles and HRs and is third with 63XBH... needs 4H to become the 15th Yankees rookie with 150H in a season.

In 43G since the All-Star break, is batting .337 (57-for-169) with 32R, 11 doubles, 11HR and 37RBI... in that span, is tied for third in the Majors in hits.

Wine for breakfast? That sound good, but I can't drink.
Have you ever tried beer on Wheaties??? I have no kidding, a dare when I was 25... not a good mix...

Hey Lil' how'd you do with the Poison Ivy??
I meant to weigh in when you mentioned that a week or so ago.
I shit you not, I've never had any negative reactions with Posion Ivy or Oak. As a kid in Ks, and La, we were surrounded by both. My cousins and buddies would get all fkd up by either or. Me, weirdly enough never ever had any prob with those. I could and have rubbed both on me just to prove it...
Then again up until 10 yrs ago, I could also put a cigarette out in my hands, instead of Ripleys- believe it or not, it Robs- I shit you not...

A’s taking a page out of the Tampa Bay Rays pitching playbook. Start a reliever then switch to another pitcher
in the second inning. Seems to be working through Yankees two innings. The funk continues.

Looks like Happ is beginning to be another Cashman band -aid falling off of the patient.

Most of Cashman’s pitching acquisitions are of the “bandaid” category. Nuff said about his pitching
    genius!
