If there is one thing from this thread that I agree with, it's that Rian Johnson ruined Star Wars.

You know, all jokes aside, I think there is or has been unusual circumstances where something like this has happened..hmm,

The federal government has been caught spying on journalists in the past. The Obama administration has used the Espionage Act to hunt down whistleblowers who leaked to journalists more than all previous presidential administrations combined, according to several studies by news organizations.

    This may get interesting

...do you think it is all a ruse to flush out leakers/whistleblowers?

Demanding that sources be named under National Security? Hmm, I think it takes more that Trump making a demand, but The Espionage act has been used before, and may very well be within his power.

A ruse? Damn, if it were me, I would take it as a valid threat. Not only for the leaker, but for the journalist as well.

...well, they'd also likely have to charge Trump as well...I mean I believe he's already inadvertently disclosed things that are a matter of national security/classified info...if we are talking about the same thing, and I'm not sure we are.
...also not sure if this would apply to the espionage act...as far as I can tell the "leaker" has only exposed his disdain for Trump's "ineptitude"...how can it be espionage if it's true?

All he has to do is the same thing obama did, start investigating the journalist for the source of the leak. That is exactly what obama did to find leaks. The kicker is that it does not have to fit your or my level of valid information. It is the very fact that there is a leak in what would be investigated.

I remember the media was not happy with obama doing it, but it shut down his leaks.

This would have been perfect, but he forgot to add, "or else!" at the end. Come on, Dumb Donald, if you're going to play the role of bully, at least go all in.

...if that happens if "the source of the leak" comes clean it will surely hurt Trump even more...like I said, how could it be seen as espionage if it turns out to be true?
...and the situation with Obama is nothing like the situation with Trump...not that I'm in any way pimping Obama but at least the guy had some credibility...Trump on the other hand is, well, Trump.

What a cluster fuck we have running this country. At least trumps ratings continue to plunge. It just takes some a little longer to figure it out.

Come clean? Go ahead, again, it is not a matter of what is leaked, but the leak itself. That is the catch 22 that obama used, so can Trump.
