Btw- welcome aboard Roy. It's nice to see a new member. I hope you enjoy your time here. It's not near the size of the old ESPN (BS-PN) board; BUT imho, there is some brilliant insightful input on this board.....

You will often see discussion, buzz, input and insight on topics and discourse; a week or weeks prior to the Press ever picking up on these issues...

    Hope You Enjoy this Board....

Not to mention he has one of the most powerful accurate Cannons of an arm in throwing out runners. When they first called him up I was utterly stunned thinking we had one of the most phenomenal catchers since Thurman Munson and/or Johnny Bench....

    ~Gary Sanchez~
Despite Posey's all-around greatness, Sanchez is the best hitting full-time catcher in the game. He led in home runs (33), despite missing a full month with a biceps strain, and he led every catcher who had at least 300 plate appearances with a 142 wRC+ mark (.278./345/.531). This isn't in dispute, and neither is his elite throwing arm; his 86.6-mph average on "max-effort" throws was the third-best in the Majors. He's even considered a slightly above-average pitch framer. He was so close to taking out Posey to lead this list.

The one flaw Sanchez has is that his pitch-blocking isn't strong. It's among the weakest of any catcher. But while it's a visible issue, it's not a particularly meaningful one. The spread between an elite framer and a poor one is on the order of 40 runs a season. The spread among great and poor pitch-blockers is only about five or six runs. It's not nothing. It's just not a lot.

Prior to Tonight's Game The Yankees have reinstated Didi Gregorious from the 10 Day DL.

Which Tanaka shows up is still a question, but one thing is for sure Seattle’s Paxton is no slouch on the mound.
Can the offense score runs off Paxton? That’s what I’m hoping.

Once again we have been bullshitted by the "brain Trust" With Hechavarria, and Toe you lose a bit of offense but defense is good. With Torres you've got hitting with an occasional mental lapse.

^^^^^exactly. We’ve been scammed by Trashman & his subsidiary yes men....from day 1
of this baseball season. There has been a trail of infielders brought in for “insurance”......
for what? I have no idea, except they must have thought some of these guys could be turned
into pitchers...down the road...since no one has any idea what comprises a good starting
pitcher or for that matter, an adequate reliever.

This GM keeps bringing in “new” faces showing the fan base he’s doing his job.....it is all haphazard mumble jumbo. It’s like throwing everything up against the wall, and it will all fall into place. Somewhere in July the pieces still have not fallen into place.

Enuf of the GM lambasting. One apprehension about tonight....I do not want to see the Yankees.get
into a bases loaded no one out/ one out situation. It would definitely send me over the edge!
Too many times this year the Yankees have come up empty. I believe they have scored 5 times
    out of 52 attempts. Ouch!

Thank you. I recognize a lot of your names. I used to post on ESPN ( a very long time ago) under the names rodney27 and black_tiger.

I know it's pollyanna but...a sweep of Seattle and the Sox being swept by Houston...put's the possibility of the division back in play . Never say die, right?

It's really been unbelievable how this great group of hitter's can't seem to get that big hit in those situations. Or, even, get a productive out (move the runner with a ground ball, sacrifice fly, etc). I am kind of shocked at how ineffective they've been in those situation's.

I guess Didi is a defensive replacement or pinch hitter once Paxton is out of the game.

Thank you. Roy was my favorite player growing up...late 60's early 70's...when a .500 season was a huge accomplishment, lol. I recognize your handle from the old ESPN boards. Great seeing you again.
