You must be kidding, he has allowed the league to latch onto it's hip-hop image over the years. The dress code thing is one you will find in other sports, and after the initial out-cry from a few players everyone seems fine with it now. He has set down a few rules, some are tough and some not so bad, but he has witnessed basketball become the only truly global team game apart from football (soccer).</div>He absolutely caters to the white crowd. He does everything in his power to expel the hip-hop image. And it doesn't take a genius to make a sport like basketball popular, it is after-all the most exciting sport out there.

He does cater to the what crowd, because the white crowd is the one who spends the money. the middle class soccer mom will buy her brats anything, so her brats end up with jerseys, shoes, game tickets, video games ect all of that stuff goes to line David Stern, and the Owners pockets. so of corse he is going to cater to them. Like everything else in life, the NBA is all about the money.
