http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2853904On Memphis:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The deadline to declare for the NBA draft was Sunday night. Of all the potential favorites, Memphis was the only team that didn't get hit. And if you watched any of the high school all-star games the past month, you know the Tigers are adding one of the best players in the country in big guard Derrick Rose. So add in Rose, along with another high school senior stud in wing Jeff Robinson, to a core of players like Chris Douglas-Roberts, Robert Dozier, Joey Dorsey, Antonio Anderson, Doneal Mack, Willie Kemp, Andre Allen and Kareem Cooper, and you have the makings of a potential national champ.</div>On the Tar-Heels:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Tar Heels lost Brandan Wright. He could have been a difference maker for them, the type of player that could break open a game. No team is more prepared to lose a player to the draft than the Tar Heels, who have Deon Thompson and Alex Stepheson ready to step in next to Tyler Hansbrough. The guards are all back, meaning the Tar Heels will be just as tough to stop with Tywon Lawson and Wayne Ellington.</div>On Kansas:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Now we're in "what if" territory. If Brandon Rush doesn't sign with an agent and comes back, the Jayhawks have a legit shot to be a title contender. The rest of the squad is all set in the backcourt, led by Russell Robinson and Sherron Collins, the anchor of this group. Expect Darrell Arthur to really blossom, too. But if Rush is gone, the Jayhawks have to slip. Losing Rush and Julian Wright would be too hard to ignore.</div>1) Memphis2) North Carolina3) Kansas4) Georgetown 5) Washington State6) UCLA7) Louisville 8)Tennessee9) Indiana10) Michigan State11) Gonzaga12) USC13) Arizona14) Marquette 15) Stanford16) Oregon17) PITT 18) Syracuse 19) Duke20) Texas A&M21) Georgia Tech22) Mississippi State23) Southern Illinois24) NC State25) Davidson

How can they not put Butler in the top 25? They were number 9 for a while last year and return 5 of their top 6 scorers including player of the year candidate A.J. Graves. That's ridiculous not to have Butler in there.

Watch out for the Spartans and Drew Nietzel, who will be a senior, and possibly the best point guard in the country next year.

I'm gonna miss Brandan Wright because he's entering the draft, but UNC still has a great group of guys who are consistent. I wonder who's gonna take Wright's spot at PF. I think that Deon Thompson kid could possibly start. :dribble:

Tennessee at 8! Watchout for us. With Florida regrouping, I think we have a strong shot at winning the SEC. Lofton has come back for his senior season to make defenders look silly, whether he's stroking the 3, or driving the lane. Last years' outstanding freshmen crew, Duke Crews, Wayne Chism, and Ramar Smith, should be really good this year. We also still have our other sharpshooter JaJuan Smith along with Childress who surprised me last season coming out of no where. We lost Dane Bradshaw, who was the heart of our team, so someone else will have to step up. Luckily, he is the only player we lost. I really like our chances, and watch out for the Vols!

All these rankings will be scrapped when the season starts...Duke at 19 will NEVER LAST...And Davidson in the top 25 because of Curry is a joke too...

I don't see why Georgetown is fourth, they lose Jeff Green and keep Hibbert.. Hibbert can carry you for ahile but you can't depend on him for any length of time IMO.

I agree with where they have Arizona ranked. We have a very questionable team though this year. Hopefully we don't completely F*ck up for the 3rd straight season [IMG]

I wonder why Kansas State isn't ranked. They pulled in the top rectruit in the country in Michael Beasley, and another top 10 recruit in Bill Walker. I wouldn't doubt if this team is ranked by season's end.

I like KSU though, I think they got snubbed this past year.

Michael Beasley wouldve been a top 10 pick if he was able to enter the draft outve highschool...hes that good. And Bill Walker is a really good prospect too. They were commited before this article was written, but are you sure its Kansas St. they commited to and not Kansas? Who are ranked 3rd...

Bill Walker is questionable, not because of his injury, but his desire. The KSU coach got both of them in and they both liked him as a coach, then he leaves for another school. They had already signed so they couldn't back out. I'm not sure about Beasley, but Walker was pissed off after it. I think they will still do well, but I question their dedication under the new coach.

It's a beautiful thing not to see UK in the top 25 preseason... I go to UK and cant stand hearing about all their we're gonna go all the way evry year bullsh**... Maybe they will be humbled a little this year, but it still looks like they will be in decent shape considering how the sec is shaping up this year

You'll do okay.
