One day left. Weakened to a strong Cat 2 but that's pretty much irrelevant when it comes to this beast. Problem is it's weakening might be deadly because people focus too much of hurricane categories, which are based off wind only, while storm surge and flooding will be whats deadly. I think it's resrtenghtening though. It's over the gulf stream. Should approach as a weak Cat 3.
Yup, and with the sheer size of this thing, it'll have the storm surge of a CAT 4 hurricane. Hurricane Ike was devastating as a CAT 2 for the same reason. Same with Sandy as a CAT 1.

I've talked about this before but I'm still amused at the weather geeks at The Weather Channel....I mean I understand the need for radar and forecasts and such but do we really need 8-10 different people telling us essentially the same thing?
