<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Lakers push Smush out the doorSaturday, May 5, 2007Broderick TurnerEL SEGUNDO - The Lakers already have made one decision, and that was to let Smush Parker know he won't be back next season."Smush is not someone that we are going to actively seek out to come back and play with us," Phil Jackson said Friday.Parker started 162 straight games for the Lakers before he lost his job with two games left in the regular season; he didn't play much in the playoffs. His attitude had been questioned by the staff and his teammates.A free agent as of July 1, Parker regressed in his second year in LA. He shot worse from the field (.436) and free-throw line (.646), and his points (11.1), assists (2.8), rebounds (2.5) and steals (1.5) all were down.</div>
If Dallas could get Smush Parker for cheap it would help with their depth. Better Smush than some nbdl player.

I found out early yesterday of his departure from the team and it brought a smile to my face. If we don't get another point guard, I would be perfectly fine with Farmar starting. We just have to get help inside.
Wow, I feel good, nanananan, I knew that I would now, nanananana. So good! dana, so good, dana, I got NO SMUSH!

He really isnt worth considering at all.As for him leaving the team. You guys seem happy. I never watched him play this season, so cant really say much. Start developing Farmar, I'd like to see him shoot better. Idk if he can take the role of a full starter though

pff shut up idiot.Suns signed him to a 10 day contract once, might as well do a 1 year, min. deal. Cheaper than Banks and he probably won't play anyway, so...
He should get picked up somewhere else, he's not expensive, I think the Lakers were paying him like $800,000. He'd be a good addition to a team that needs depth. He's a good player (yes I said that) just don't do what the Lakers did and put him at a position he totally sucks at.

We need a playmaker, what has Smush showed you that he's capable of doing that? <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>If Harris and Terry are starting, Dallas needs a backup. It sounds like one has to go but if anything, one is going to be on the bench next year. What Dallas needs is a capable playmaker, legit 2 guard and a backup post presence. Smush Parker don't fit any.

He gives the team energy, hits huge shots in the clutch, and has always seemed like a winner. I'd hate to see Harris go as well.Dallas' offense is fine outside of a low post presence. Their biggest weakness for the past 2 years has been a guy who can play tough defense on perimeter players. Harris is the closest thing, but he is simply too small. Buckner is overrated defensively and I don't know where people got that Geoerge can play very good defense.
YAYAY!! Woot woot!! We all new he was leaving sometime, this off season. I'm just glad they did it now. I hope they can pick up a star quality PG, in the draft, who isn't in the limelight, and who can be a great asset to the team for cheap.

When he's not shooting well, he does nothing. Also the small lineup creates a size problem. I don't mind Terry coming off the bench, I feel at this point he would flourish better. I think it's a smart move moving away from starting them together. Like you said, we need a legit swing who can defend and for me slash. The guys I like are Bonzi, Mason and MoPete. I actually think with Mason and Bonzi, they'd fit well with Dirk. Both guards like to post and Dirk can roam the perimeter.Harris paired with one of them in the backcourt is better with Terry providing the scoring off the bench(needed more if Stack doesn't return). Even if Stack returns, the bench still needs bolstering and putting Terry there, would bolster it. I agree though with the trading. Neither guard should be traded. Harris provides d, speed and drives. Terry provides shooting. Both are needed.

He is hurt half the year, always out of shape, and does nothing but fadeaway jumpers off of post up situations. He is not the kind of defender you guys need, either. Mason and MoPete could both be pretty effective with the Mavs, though.I prefer Terry in the starting lineup as Harris is a guy who brings instant energy with his speed and toughness, but as you said, the team needs both Harris and Terry in some way, shape or form.
