Drake Davis charged with possession of child pornography, has left LSU

Prosecutors have added criminal charges of possession of child pornography against former LSU wide receiver Drake Davis, who was arrested Sunday morning for the second time in the past month, after his ex-girlfriend accused him of domestic battery.

East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore III told the Baton Rouge Advocate that the new charges were added Tuesday after investigators found two videos on his cellphone that they concluded were child pornography. Investigators had obtained a search warrant for his cellphone as part of their investigation into the domestic abuse allegations.

No. 2 Georgia clears another SEC hurdle at Missouri

Fueled by opportunistic defense and special teams early and a quick-strike passing game late, No. 2 Georgia notched another road victory against a divisional foe.

Jake Fromm threw three second-half touchdown passes and the Bulldogs returned a fumble and a blocked punt for scores to beat Missouri 43-29 on Saturday.

Gators benefit from turnovers in 47-21 blowout of Tennessee

Tennessee's inability to hang on to the football assured that Florida would continue its mastery of this annual series.

Feleipe Franks threw touchdown passes to three different receivers and ran for a fourth score Saturday as Florida capitalized on six Tennessee turnovers in a 47-21 rout of the Volunteers.

Mississippi rallies in second half, beats Kent St 38-17

On back-to-back plays, DaMarkus Lodge grabbed a pass and then hurdled over a defender for a 30-yard gain before D.K. Metcalf made a stunning one-handed catch for a 41-yard touchdown.

It was a brief reminder of how good this Ole Miss football team -- particularly the offense -- can look when playing well.

The rest of the Rebels' 38-17 win over Kent State on Saturday was mostly a reminder of how much improvement needs to be made if they want to compete in the Southeastern Conference.

Aggies fast 100-yard start on way to 24-17 win over Arkansas

Jimbo Fisher got his first Southeastern Conference victory at Texas A&M. He was still far from happy with the performance.

Jashaun Corbin had the first 100-yard kickoff return to start a game for Texas A&M since 1994 and Trayveon Williams ran for 153 yards with two touchdowns, but the Aggies needed a late interception to seal a 24-17 victory over Arkansas on Saturday.

No. 17 Kentucky tops South Carolina 24-10 to remain unbeaten

For one half, No. 17 Kentucky's offense showed the intensity that helped earn its first Top 25 in nearly 11 years. When things sputtered afterward against South Carolina, the Wildcats' defense rose to the challenge with clutch plays to ensure their new-found status ended on a high note.

Their strong start was certainly critical, too.

Benny Snell Jr. ran for 99 yards and one of Kentucky's three consecutive first-half touchdowns and the Wildcats held on for a 24-10 victory over South Carolina on Saturday night.

Fromm throws 3 TD passes, No. 2 Georgia drops Vandy 41-13

For the first time this season, Georgia found itself trailing in a game.

It wasn't much of a crisis. The deficit lasted only 15 seconds.

Jake Fromm threw three touchdown passes, including a 75-yarder to Terry Godwin, and No. 2 Georgia beat Vanderbilt 41-13 on Saturday night to gain momentum for a crucial stretch of four Southeastern Conference games.

Fitzgerald leads Miss St to 23-9 win over No. 8 Auburn

Mississippi State first-year coach Joe Moorhead once had a goal to turn Nick Fitzgerald into more of a passer than a runner during his senior season.

Six games later, there's been a shift in philosophy: Time to let the big man loose.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Fitzgerald ran for 195 yards and two touchdowns and Mississippi State's defense had another dominant performance in a 23-9 victory over No. 8 Auburn on Saturday night. The victory snapped a two-game losing skid and re-established the Bulldogs as a force in the Southeastern Conference Western Division.
