Well Melo had a no-trade clause and refused to come here so I don't know how that is on Olshey. As for the Pacers, you'd think a team trading their best player would want to rebuild and that 3 1st round picks in an incredibly deep draft would be a fair deal. Can you imagine if the Blazers traded Dame for Oladipo and Sabonis last summer?
You know you really are probably the most knowledgeable and efficient poster on this forum, regardless of what I was told.
I heard Butler had accepted a trade here with an extension..... Then watched the second half of the Ducks game to celebrate their victory there (to never have been to seen again!).
https://www.netsdaily.com/2018/9/23/17892270/woj-nets-among-six-teams-interested-in-jimmy-butler according to woj the Blazers arent even one of the teams trying to get Butler.
Woj must have updated his story then... http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...-taylor-wants-jimmy-butler-trade-done-quickly
I would do a trade like the below link and we send out multiple unprotected first round picks http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y7492rxq POR; Butler & Dieng ORL; Turner & Meyers, 2022 unprotected POR first MIN; Vucevic & Terrance Ross, 2020 unprotected POR first Minnesota gets salary relief from Dieng terrible contract, two rotational players on expiring deals and an unprotected pick. Orlando gets an unprotected pick for the extra year of Turner and Meyers. Blazers get Butler.
Weird that the story has been updated with Portland. I absolutely don't trust the narrative that Neil passes information to Woj to "look better" and giving us the "at least he tries" relief. So we are in the mix. If CJ is thrown, we are among the frontrunners. If not, I feel like we have no chance.
Aw man, why did Woj have to throw us out there like this? Now it's going to be just as disappointing as it was with PG when we don't get Butler now.
All right! This means they aren't gonna let some kind of "culture" concerns stop them. No reason this shouldn't be happening. We've got the assets.
I do wonder the kind of relationship woj and Neil have and how the business works. If our name is there just to be there and Neil actually isn’t on the phone or what. I would love butler on this team but unfortunately it would probably take cj to get him and we know Neil isn’t breaking up the back court. Wish we had better assets. I wonder what team he ends up on this week and for what.
I feel like the PG situation was a big fuck you from Pritchard to us. PG on this current squad would be deadly. Perfect fit. I have always said it. Oh well though. Oladipo turned out great for Indy.
Ya, why are we the only team not hyperlinked in the article? Seems like we were certainly a late add to it.
