My brother was occasionally locked up in a VA facility in Roseburg and it was more like a prison there than a medical facility. His doctor was awful.
My brother was schizophrenic. One time under Reagan it was deemed that he should be removed from my Mother's care, she was cloder to normal at that time, so he was released to the streets. He wound up sleeping on a sidewalk and got beaten up on a regular basis. His shoes were on the wrong feet and he sometimes wore his pants backwards. He had to go through a lot of this hell before we could get him returned home. Also, whenever he got committed, his VA pension got reduced to zero. This is the main reason I have a low regard for Reagan.
