Meyers....... he’s the kind of guy who tries to crack jokes when the cameras come on. You guys may not like him because of what he has or hasn’t accomplished on the court, but he works hard and is a genuinely nice down to earth person. I understand why some might watch that and think a certain thing, but that was just him goofing around.
Think what you want, but he is a great guy.

But at least between the goggles and fighting with his eyes closed, he won't have to worry about putting an eye out:

I actually believe you! I think he’s an alright dude, but unfortunately on the court he’s just frustrating. I dont boo my team, or cheer against players on my team, I want him to succeed, I just have given up on him being a good nba player. If it happens thats great! If not well my expectations are low... I mean hey if I were him Id have signed that contract too.

He's an easy target and has been for years, but he does seem like a good guy, loves America and his girlfriend, too...

I REALLY want him to do well, mostly because we have a shortage of bigs this year and we need either him or Swanigan to step up, but also to silence that haters. OK, that will never happen, but maybe a little less hate...

Hey, feel what you want. Just wanted to get that message out there. Trust there have been a few guys who I would say to feel free to hate, but Meyers isn’t one of em. I just wanted people who are blasting him personally, should know that he is a real good guy.

I think where people have the issue is that because of his poor performance (or inconsistent), it makes him already unlikable. And you're not going to pity laugh someone you don't like.

I've heard nothing but good things about him as a person... but when you already have the heuristic of being on this forum and the frustration he's caused as a player... It makes it seem forced and trite. Kinda like how A-rod use to be, except he was always a dick... but he wanted people to like him. lol.

Take just the workout videos between him and Dame. Meyers comes across very douchey and not funny at all. Lillard's video is genuinely funny including him missing every shot.

I'm sure Meyers is a great guy but when he posts the pictures and videos he does he kind of brings it on himself.

I try to keep it to basketball. I have a heard time feeling bad for a guy making as much as he does, but I have a couple times felt bad for him. I think from all appearances he works hard, Ive never heard anything bad about him off the court. Ive felt like for a couple years his best shot at on court success probably lies somewhere else where he can get a fresh start, but this year he should get an opportunity so hopefully he takes advantage of it.

I appreciated the Tom Petty allusion.
