BonesJones and I argued about this when LeBron chose the Lakers. I said TV ratings are going to go through the roof for Lakers games. He said no. Well since then, the schedule came out and we found out our first game is on national TV against the Lakers. I have a very good feeling a LOT of people will be watching this game so it would be great for our team if we won. I'm telling you. A LOT of people will be watching. And I don't think they'll start our game until the Chicago/Philly game is over even if it takes a couple overtimes. Anyway, I'm very excited that our team will have a chance to shine for a big audience.
What a great thread topic! You couldn’t have just posted this in the latest created Laker thread on here? The fuck! This place just keeps sliding downhill doesn’t it? #Sigh
I dont believe that was the exact argument and you probably shouldn't have started an entire thread about Laker ratings......
HCP can't read King's posts, so I pass them along via carrier pigeon. He acts nonchalant, but he's eager to read them.
I thought it was going to be a thread about this: https://www.si.com/nba/2018/09/10/top-100-nba-players-2019-lebron-james-stephen-curry-dirk-nowitzki Where the Lakers 2nd and 3rd best players were ranked 75th and 100th. BNM
If we win that game, it will be a miracle. Not because I don't think we can beat them, I just don't think the league is going to allow them to start 0-1.
LeBron has lost the first game EVERY time he has joined an NBA team: 10/29/2003: SAC 106 - CLE 92 10/26/2010: BOS 88 - MIA 80 10/30/2014: NYK 95 - CLE 90 Let's keep that streak going! BNM
When LeBron joined The Heatles, they started the season 9-8. When he re-joined the Cavs, they started the season 5-7. It takes teams, even ones loaded with stars, a while to adjust to playing with such a dominant talent. We play the Lakers 3 times in our first 14 games. Moral of the story: Beat 'em while they're down! Go Blazers!!! BNM
I think opening night at home vs the Lakers could be a game where the Blazers get up for it and win maybe by a lot, and then lose their next game just because its kind of a mental let down.
https://basketball.realgm.com/wiret...s-ESPN-Highest-Ever-Rating-For-Preseason-Game ESPN's coverage of the Los Angeles Lakers' win over the Golden State Warriors was their highest ever rated telecast for a preseason game. It delivered a 1.6 metered market rating. The rating was up 129 percent from last season's comparable game. The game was LeBron James' first with the Lakers against the Warriors.
A Laker thread on a Blazer forum. Wondering if this could have just gone in the Around The NBA Thread. Remember the one that mine was merged into? Just so YOU could see it.
