and in my analogy, if the FBI did an investigation they would easily find some corroborating evidence and it wouldn't be very hard, but with no investigation it becomes a simple he said/ she said.

There have been several red flags with Kavanaugh in my book and first is his opinion that presidents are basically above the law, next, the demeanor he showed in the hearing with emotional outbursts of anger and his continual dodging of answering key questions and finally his obvious prejudice against a party of the United States as he clearly showed bias with his emotional rant about the conspiracy from the democrats as well as the Clintons. All not good traits for a supreme court justice that is suppose to be bipartisan.

It seems reasonable in this case, but then again it could be a "perjury trap". I also agree with others that say it should be used in any high level government job.

Yes. Why not. Let us go down this road. Lets go further, every person accusing someone of sexual assault should be required to take a polygraph.

Lets see if the democrats are using this as a delay tactic.

Or if White house staff or the FBI agents are committing treason by sabotaging the president

I found Ford’s testimony compelling. As a lawyer I found Kavanaugh’s testimony ridiculous. He did all of the things we ask clients not to do when they testify. He was combative, evasive, and non responsive. If a judge was the arbiter he would have sustained multiple objections/motions to strike during his testimony. A lawyer would know this. A judge would know this. His disdain and contempt was unbecoming of a candidate for any judgeship, let alone SCOTUS. In contrast, Ford was composed, responsive to questions, calm, and credible. I don’t much care for Kavanaugh based upon what I saw on Thursday. SCOTUS is supposed to be above politics, Kavanaugh showed he is not. I expect that he only endeared himself to Trump and maybe other Republicans. However, I am sure there is a better option on Trump’s list of consevative judges than Kavanaugh. His explanations of Devils Triangle, Ralphing, boofing, etc. lacked credibility, as did his claim he has never drank excessively to the point of blacking out in light of evidence to the contrary. He was testifying under oath and he may not have assaulted Ford, but his testimony was not plausible on these points. In any event, I expect Kavanaugh to be confirmed. I think it is a good thing for all that the FBI probe will occur, regardless of whether anything becomes of it.

Another Yale classmate came out today saying Kavanaugh was a big sloppy drunk in college doing beer bongs and dinking to excess. That's not something that bothers me. I enjoyed partying too. But so many Yale classmates coming out like this just proving that he lied under oath repeatedly. It adds credibility to what Ford claimed by making Kavanaugh's word worthless. I don't know if he was a sexual predator but he does lie under oath, that that's more than enough of a reason to keep him off the highest court in the land.

You can drink until you are obliterated and not be blackout drunk. I was probably a bigger drinker than kavanaugh and have never blacked out. Some people just don't blackout.

...let's see if the GOP is trying to ram this confirmation through no matter what.

...let's see some proof that WH staff or FBI are committing treason by sabotaging the president.

I don't know what dinking is but doing it to excess is disturbing.

The anonymous NY Times op ed is sufficient to polygraph everyone.

...first off, it was sarcasm...secondly, if the accused must take a polygraph as you assert, so should the accused. ...derp.

Lets make her take one by a mutually agreed upon party then.

I do like the concept of "if I took one, you should too". Works both ways though

He lied - about something stupid like how much of a partier he was
    He lost composure
He railed against a political party
And he wants to be on the Supreme Court?
How is this even a possibility?

...yup, if one part of his story is shown to be false, the rest of his testimony is questioned...and the sexual predator part becomes moot as far as being confirmed...can't have a liar on the SC bench.
