Andujar breaks DiMaggio's rookie doubles record. I don't intend to add to or detract from Andujar's accomplishment. It is insane and unfair to compare anyone to the Epic Legend that was The Yankee Clipper... DiMaggio played in 10 fewer Games than Andujar, but had 68 Additional at bats (ABs) Andujar 46 Dbls 148 Gms/ 569 AB's DiMaggio 44 Dbls 138 Gms/ 637 AB's Comparisons- MA- 169 Hits / JD- 206 MA- 82 Runs / JD- 132 MA- 2 3B's / JD- 15 MA- 27 HRs / JD- 29 MA- 92 RBIs / JD- 125 MA- 25 BBs / JD- 24 MA- 96 SOs / JD- 39 MA- .296 B'AVG / JD- .323 MA- .329 OBP / JD- .353 MA- .527 SLG / JD- .576 MA- .856 OPS / JD- .928 MA- 300 TB / JD- 367 MA- 75 XBH /JD- 88
I was pulling for Andujar from the get go. I remember early in the season Judge allegedly told Machado how great he'd look in pinstripes. Judge should go to Andujar and thank him for how well he performs in pinstripes. When Andujar brings his fielding on par he may well replaces Graig Nettles as my all time favorite Yankee 3rd Baseman. If Andujar does not win ROY honors something is wrong with the system.
